Not sure if this has been posted yet. If so, too fucking bad. Here it is again. Deen on vox.

I would think this song would have been perfect for Arnel to sing but once Deen does it, I guess it becomes his song from here on out.

I was hoping to hear Arnel sing it.

But I'll give it a whirl.

I love the new sounds that they gave it. It sounds a bit more bluesy to me.

Edit: Is there an entire version around?

It was pretty good. Deen has a smooth tone to pull it off, but I'd love to hear Arnel's take on it.

OMG.

More importantly, here's "Wildest Dream" from the same concert:

I like the sound of the concert overall.

It's really clear compared to the one at the Sommet. That might just be the in-person effects, though.

It might be the quality of the camera, but "Wildest Dream" sounds tuned down. Not terribly, it still sounds good. Just an observation. Can someone confirm?

Any version of this song without Neal's outro solo is unbearable. One of Neal's best ever. Sounds cool though.

This is my all time favorite song, PERIOD. The first time I heard it, I just wanted to break down and cry. I know there are a lot of Deen fans here on MR, but, his performance of this song just makes me want to break down and cry for a totally different reason (meaning NOT in a good way). I'm just not feeling Deen, at all.

Fabulous! Thanks. Just slays me that he can deliver vocally like that from behind a drum kit. Guy is definitely multi-talented!

But JSS owns that one, after Perry of course. :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JDtHpo3I5vc

I think it's merely his voice's lack of power. He has the rasp, he has the smooth quality. But there's no force behind it. It's what made Perry and Soto's performances of the song so incredible; a reason I think Arnel would have also done an impressive job on it.

It's definitely not bad, in my opinion, though. Just needs to be handed off to Arnel.

So, I listened through the whole of "Wildest Dream." Because Jon's on rhythm guitar the entire length of the song now, they have some prerecorded piano bits at the end.

It sucked and was completely distracting of an otherwise great rendition.

That's what I like about his voice too, the rasp and tone of it, can deliver quite soulfully at times.. Kind of makes me wonder what it would sound like with full focus and if he would have more power behind it if he was out front, standing up and without the distraction of trying to drum at the same time. I would be curious to hear him belt one out just vocally. :)

UNreal.
What a rendition.
And Deen doing a number on 2 a night will keep Pineda fresh but this song is fantastic; dare the band to dust off Girl Can't Help It now...

They did REALLY well with the new version of Open Arms. I love Neal's solo that they incorporated.

From all the clips I've seen, he usually sounds much better than this. Granted, the sound on this clip was bad, but I just don't know without a better video. The sound was distorted in places.

There were rumors of them possibly practicing/learning WCTNGOF.

Good clip SJ. Surprising to see them break out an ROR other than BGTY.

Next up Suzanne. My favorite track off ROR.

I agree. This is just one of those (many) song where, to paraphrase a quote used regarding another singer: Once SMFP sings a song, it stays SUNG! I liked JSS's version much better than Deens. Still, nobody else can ever "own" this song - not for me anyway.

I can understand the band handing off a few songs to Deen to save Arnel's voice, but it just seems to me they're just using Deen's song's as some sort of "throw away" or filler, or intermission between acts of the real show. It's a little unsettling to think "Still They Ride" and "I'll Be Alright Without You" are just being used to kill time while Arnel recuperates. :?
