I was wondering when is SP gracing me with his presence again on stage? September, October or when?

Thanks!

Well, all we know for sure is that a new realease is being worked on or is already done. The release date is the question and I've said November all along and have also said that I might be off a month or two because of Christmas or the New Year. But there will be new music soon.

As for live performances, that'll be a big question. I can't see one of the best live performers of all time releasing new stuff and not playing live AT ALL. Obviously things will depend upon condition of his voice, but I'd bet we'll see some shows, spaced out with time between them and only limited older Journey songs. Maybe he'll do nothing live at all, but I sure hope not.

Hell, other things I've heard has his voice in such great form, he'll be able to do a big tour and do the whole back catalog. How sweet would that be?

Either way, we're gonna find out all of this soon enough.

Thanks Madsplash! I was actually being funny but also being kinda serious. If all the speculation is true about the surgery he might have had, I can definitely see a tour and boy would I be so happy!! I have never had the honor of seeing him live and I would pay out the wazoo to be [sitting on the front row anywhere in the us to see it. I also feel like he probably won't release new material without a tour to back it up so here is hoping!!!

Nope..not at all. Just admire him like the rest of us J-People :)
It was just my 2 cents.
Again...I REALLY wish i'm wrong.

I'd be happy to hear and see him perform again.

Yes I think your right ...it looks like he has matured and learned to enjoy life. That's lesson for all of us. (myself included)

Darn it I hate when Dan forgets to log out! I have to log him out to get in. Sorry folks........

Out of curiosity, why is madsplash considered the source to ask?

We have Lora and Cyndy and Andrew who seem to know much more than he does, and they are not telling us anything. Trust me if he was going to release an album they would be equally excited, equally eager to share.

Trust me, when Steve's FTLOSM first came out, we knew way in advance. We were waiting and looking for the album long before the release. Guess who was our source.............Fan Asylum.

No offense madsplash. But side info just don't cut it for me. You may be on the mark. But I will wait for people in the know to let me know. :D

Careful, he'll call you bitter and naive. People that know their way around here know who the sources are. It's like the slogan 'when they talk..people listen'. Until then...eh..not so much. 8)

The fact that Lora and Cyndy and Andrew are not telling us anything is because they have enough respect for Perry to let him control his own release
if and when he is going to do it. Loyalty to a friend is refreshing to see. :D

there's an interesting way to look at all of this; from his being a perfectionist and his releasing tunes to his relationships to the fans; it's all his framework and time table. people can claim all sorts of things from release dates to concert dates to song titles; when in actuality it will be released when and if he's ready to release it. the rub is that the more you want the less ready he's for release cause the expectation will have grown to be too frickin big and then comes the dreaded critques which in turn makes him more of a perfectionist and more wreary of releasing the music. it's a vicious cycle; people clamboring to hear the tunes and he's dreading the tunes being released for fear they are not up to par. turn you shoulder. look away. forgetaboutit. let it be a surprise. all this talk only serves to frighten the man more. madspash is doing an honorable job in creating and maintaining the expectation and suspense but he's killing it in the water with all this talk with dates cause he's adding to the crazy pressure. there is music but if you're going to hear it; i'd stop talking about it and let time take its course. you all know by now the man does not respond well to pressure. so....act like you've never been engaged in conversations about any new released music, act like you're not getting crazy with anticipation and just act like you're not sleeping with TBF cds or Somewhere There's Hope or any other Perry era Journey tune. Be adult about it. Don't look at the LIGHT! Turn the hell away from it! Run for cover. Act like the music doesn't exist and soon it will come. Just shut up talkiing about the possibility. It's all in your hands. It's your job; heck, it's your desitny and with a bit of faith I know not only will you hear new music; you'll end a Perry drought. :D

When I was a boy my dad used to take me snipe hunting. We had to be really quiet. I never got a snipe, but I got to watch my dad drink a lot of beer in anticipation. Cheers!

Seriously, years later I found out the whole snipe thing was a hoax, they were never coming, didn't exist and the most important part was that dad needed an excuse to get out so he could drink beer and I was his company!

Snipe Perry? LOL
time will tell

Ever think someone who knows may gave been asked not to say anything? There were only a few people who knew about a lot of things for a certain time. But guess what? Eventually other people came along who ACTUALLY also knew things. It CAN happen.

I'm still just a fan saying what I've been told to be absolutely true. If the many that have contacted me and told me that they think I'm right believe my info is right, I think that's great. For those who want to believe I'm a complete liar and have made everything up, that's there choice also.

The only thing I'll be excited about when I'm right is that, as one of his biggest fans, we'll have new music from the greatest pop/rock vocalist of all time.
That's really all I care about, (although I will reserve the right to rub a few of the rudest, nastiest, most viciously attacking, self centered, negative puppies noses in it).

Do you guys not listen to a word Andrew says? :) well just to clarify his opinion, and probably the only opinion around that actually holds any true weight on the subject. His word was "NO" (as in not happening).

Let's put an end to these stupid and frustrating rumors (that literally have been going on since 1998) every year there's a new member that starts trash rumors, and every year they are proven wrong, time and time again. When will people get the drift?, and you know it's extremely cruel, because once the "loons" get their hopes up, and only to find all their hopes are crushed, when the reality sinks in. You can't go around spreading shit, and expecting no repercussions. Once a loon gets a sniff in, they go always go in full Monty, it's all or nothing.

Steve Perry has retired - the end. And I am surprised people don't get banned here more often, as that should be automatic rule when people spread garbage rumors about, that hold as much weight as a feather.

Gideon, I LOVE Elvis, but as far as a pure vocalist, Elvis wasn't in SP's league. As a performer, yes. And thank God for Elvis kicking down all the doors. Without him there wouldn't be rock and roll as we know it. But, although I love Elvis's emotional and quite good voice, prime SP is better in every category, technically.

And I love Elvis, but c'mon E, write a song. He wrote very few of his big songs and only got some co-writing credits because he was Elvis.

However, Randy Jackson did say that SP is working on stuff, whatever that means.

Man, were you not here when Andrew CONFIRMED that SP has been working on new material? As for a release, he said he didn't know about any, but the fact that he CONFIRMED it(do a search) is enough to make it be more than past rumors.

And it's nice to know that YOU'VE been put in charge of deciding what is a rumor and what isn't, deciding that SP is retired when he's NEVER said that, and deciding who should be banned  for posting about SP on a Journey Forum.

And if I'm "proven wrong", I'll apologize and even leave here if asked. But who are you to try and make the rules? As far as I've ever known, that's just Andrew.

No worries mate, yeah I kind of went on a a bit of tangent there, sorry. But yeah, Randy did say that, and I guess because it's Randy, you would have to ask the question. Strange stuff going on that's for sure. See what happens.
