I'd be happy with this:

You Better Wait
You Better Wait
You Better Wait
You Better Wait
You Better Wait
You Better Wait
You Better Wait
You Better Wait
You Better Wait

Encore:

You Better Wait

If he ever did tour again, which is extremely unlikely i would very much like to hear solo material, with only a few Journey songs in there. If i wanna hear Journey songs i'll go see Journey.

Allowing that he would tour, I'd guess he'd do MOSTLY what people want to hear him doing: OS, Foolish Heart, MAYBE YBW, and then his Journey stuff, what the hell?

Just like what Neal's checkbook would look like if HH hadn't forced SP into his life. Before that Journey was playing fusion/prog crap for burned out hippies.

It would/will be mostly like the FTLOSM tour, with new material added from what he's done since then.

While were at it why don't we talk about what would happen if Abraham Lincoln had a giant flying robot for a friend and George Washington could shoot laser beams from his eyes.

I agree I would prefer to hear his solo work. Journey songs are meant to be sung with Journey..

I think this is what Saint John has been trying to get at for all these years. When people debate back and forth as regards what Steve Perry brought to Journey or whether or not he is Journey or so on, some people seem to think that the majority of the public want to hear him singing songs from FtLoSM or Street Talk.

I think the truth is that most people want to hear Steve Perry singing Journey songs.

Herbie was the manager for Neal's band. Neal is directly responsible for Perry having the opportunity to front Journey. Neal could have stayed with Santana and he could have joined Eric Clapton. He was gonna make money no matter what. Can you say the same for the guy that had given up singing to repair turkey coops? You see, Perry being a quitter actually pre-dates the shortened ROR tour, the shortened FTLOSM tour, and the aborted TBF tour. Destiny brought them together and they made the most of it, but there's no doubt who set the wheels in motion. And that's Neal, Herbie and Greg. It took a lot of balls to do what they did (leaving Santana).

Not all surgeries have the same recovery. My daughter had a total hip replacement 11 yrs ago and still has pain and limps sometimes. She will have to have another in the next couple of yrs.

I think Perry's popularity and demand has only increased due to his absence. There may be some who are bitter about it, but I am just happy that he did what he did. I was lucky enough to see it once live, and it was definitely one of the best shows I've ever seen. When I saw him with Journey back in the early 80's, I walked into the show a little late and they were just starting to play Lights. When Perry sang the opening line "When the lights go down in the city..." I couldn't believe I was even there. It seemed so surreal. His voive literally sent shivers up my spine, and I don't recall that happening ant a concert ever since.

Whether Perry comes back to Journey or he never does (I'm guessing the latter), it doesn't make me feel any different towards him one way or the other. He gave the best vocal perfomances anyone could ever ask from a human being during his prime years, and for that I am grateful. If he wants to retire and put it to rest for good, that's his decision to make - not mine. It's his life, and he has the right to live it the way he chooses to just like the rest of us do. He may have made some wrong decisions while in Journey, but the music that he did deliver to his fans makes up for it in my book. I hope he feels all of the appreciation that most of his fans have towards him instead of the bashing that he gets from a few haters. Most of them are just mad because he won't go out and blow his voice out so Neal and the boys can bank off of it. Augeri learned the hard way, but Perry obviously was smart enough to see what it would do to him and avoid it.

Arnel probably has a higher register at age 40 than Perry does at age 60 anyway. Go buy a ticket to see him with Journey this year and pay tribute to the vocal range that Steve Perry used to have.

I'm sure Perry's hip healed up way before his voice and his bruised ego did. Oh well, the guy retired early. So did Elvis, just in a different way.

You Better Wait, Melody, She's Mine, Strung Out and if he has the voice for it Oh Sherrie.
Would be nice to hear one or two of his Journey hits, such as Faithfully.

Better start saving for my plane ticket *rattles jar*.....

If I were a fan enough of Steve Perry's solo career, I would want to see "I Stand Alone" more so than any others.

After that, it would be all of the others you listed. Journey songs would have to be at a minimum for me.

I agree. Leave out the Journey songs. We get enough of that already. I Stand Alone would be amazing. I love that song. And I would love to hear Captured By The Moment. Although I know that one would be tough.

If his voice were up to it, as well, I would love to hear "Against the Wall."

I don't like the Perry recording of I Stand Alone. I grew up with the version the character Gareth sings in The Magic Sword: Quest for Camelot. It's different, more pop-py and sounds better.
