I'm saw them at Irvine Meadows around 1983 and I have to say, it was one of the best concerts Ive ever been to.

I have to go with Voices. Every time you go away is one of my favorite songs. They did an extended version of it when I saw them in Japan, phenomenal.
I also might add that "Live from Daryl's house" is just brilliant.

Love Hall & Oates. I saw them at Wings Stadium in Kalamazoo, Michigan around 1984. Great show. Love Daryl's Philly-soul influenced sound.

Actually, Daryl wrote
Everytime you go away in 1980, where it appeared on the Voices album. Paul Young covered it in 1985.

Though I don't have this one yet I have listened to a few tracks from it
and I really fancy the likes of Do It For Love and Man On A Mission.
They came around this way back in Nov and I'm still slapping myself silly for not seeing them!

I've got THE ESSENTIAL DARYL HALL & JOHN OATES on my iPod right now.
My favorites are:
Family Man
Some Things Are Better Left Unsaid
Rich Girl
Kiss On My List
So Close
and Starting All Over Again
I think I just really started appreciating them in the last few years though.

They've got one of those songs where the cover is just as good as the original.
Spinners, 'I'll Be Around'. It may have been off that "soul' album.
later~

H&O are awesome. So underrated. That Live From Daryl's House thing that someone posted a while back on here is still keeping me entertained. So cool, wish some other artists (especially ones not very active on the touring circuit) would do this. I'd love to see Jim Peterik, for example, do a show like that and bring in all the people he's written/played with/for over the years.

I'm a huge "I Can't Go For That" fan, that base line just kills.

They were supposed to be on Dancing With The Stars, so I watched. It was a little embarrasing. They began playing and all was good, and out came the professional dancers doing their thing. The audience went crazy for the dancers and their routine and the camera stayed on the dancers most of the time. It was like Hall and Oates were the background singers, not on camera. I felt bad for them.

They're probably used to that, they have always been underrated. Daryl is one of those guys that looks so unassuming, then you find out that the guy has like 200 million dollars in assets. Just a great business man. owns a multitude of homes including one of only 50 homes with direct waterfront access to the Thames river in London. And he's not ashamed about his voice even though it has lost same range.
Philly boys done good.

Yep, killer bass for sure. Although it seems to sound a bit like Funky Town by Lipps Inc
