I do a lot of work for an organization called Rachel's Challenge. It was founded by the father of the first casualty at Columbine that fateful day, Rachel Scott. Her brother Craig, is a great film maker and friend. The Rachel's Challenge program visits thousands of schools each year across the country.

Anyway, I am in Littleton, CO right now because I am going to the 10 year memorial service tomorrow. I cannot believe that it's been 10 years already. So many lives were lost in this tragedy. If you get a chance, perhaps you could have a quiet moment or say a prayer for all those involved. It shook their lives forever, and some have still not recovered. Thanks.

It was put in perspective for me as to how the school has moved on: The senior class this year was only 8 when Columbine occured, the freshman class was 4.

I was pleased to hear that Oprah cancelled her tribute to Columbine as it seemed to give too much attention to the killers.

I would like to think that now that a decade has passed, maybe we can let it go and not make a big to-do over it anymore. We have all learned from it, we have all suffered in some way for it, but we need to let it go so that we can forget the killers. Otherwise, with evey mention of the massacre and the victims comes mention of the killers. I don't want them remembered, I don't want to give them any more attention, anymore strength...

It's been trumped by so many other horrific acts of violence in the last few years. Nothing has changed in the bigger picture.

i liked oprah's move to cancel. the big problem in moving on, so to speak, is the victims are forgotten along with those we wish to forget. so many families have been torn apart at the hands of some killer. there is a way to hold memorials for the victims without paying tribute to the killers.

I know it is unfortunate that the victims will be forgotten in the process...although never by those who matter most, family and friends. I went to one of the Columbine funerals, it was sad and incredible and amazing. There are memorials. But do we need to continue to publicly broadcast annual rememberances? I don;'t think so anymore....
