Yes, we have it now in Milwaukee too. As a precaution they closed 4 schools. I work as a health care consultant in long-term care. These bugs go through nursing homes like a hot knife through butter. Even with all the precautions and infection control, people still get sick. Now most residents do get flu shots and pneumovax, but of course there is no vaccine for this stuff. This year was really bad for the Norovirus (stomach flu) every single one of the facilities I went into got it. Staff all got sick, what a mess. Some facilities stopped admitting new residents it got so bad. I felt like MacBeth's wife I was washing my hands so much. I can only imagine what this has the potential to turn into. But then again let's put things into perspective. Last year over 36,000 people in the US died from influenza, and no one paid any attention.
