"Steve Perry has been incredible about licensing the song for us. He’s been and seen the pilot and loves it, and is very supportive. We’re hoping for him to make some sort of promotional appearances or do something with the show just because he’s been so great, and we all love him."

I'm really starting to wonder if Steve has bought this song from Sony or has some kind of ownership over it. His name seems to carry more association with DSB than Journey's does at this point.

I have wondered that too. Steve seems to call most of the shots when it comes to putting songs on television, commercials, and movies.

Sorry but this is why he was the brains of the outfit. He seems to run things because he always knew what was best. They should have waited for him. Def Leppard waited for their drummer, why couldn't Journey wait for Steve? Steve brought them up from going to nothing. I know I am probably going to open up a can of worms with this comment, so be it!

Oh Please! Mr. I don't want to cheapen the "Legacy". And, they DID wait for him! WE are still waiting for him! All he wants to do is keep on raking in the dough and do nothing!

For all we know, once the re-records were done, Perry said "Fuck it. If they're going to milk the classics for money then so am I". Concerning the argument that Perry doesn't do anything but sit back and collect money, didn't Perry remaster all the older CDs? Didn't Perry handle the production of the Houston DVD (which went platinum)? Didn't everyone in Journey benefit from these acts?
You know, I used to be in Journey and AP's corner my first year here but the constant ragging on SP, even after the band has found some success has really turned me 180 degrees.

+1 I agree, he has done more than the rest of the band who were on tour with someone else why he was remastering the Legacy...... like I said before I just don't think that Glee is the best use of a rock and roll bands anthem, but that is my opinion.

Don't care for the version of the song I hear from the commercial.
Don't think I'll be watching the show either...too old to buy into the youth culture of today.

For a show about "Glee" clubs, I've never heard so much bloody pitch correction used in my life (speaking in reference to the DSB used on the ad).
Does anybody just friggin' SING anymore???
Sounds like a bunch of robots.

Dude, The re mastering and stuff
is doing nothing. Just more money and nothing new. At least the Band makes an attempt to give the fans something new. I love Steve, but I'm never going to buy all the crap some of these loons (not talking about you here) throw out.

I will say one thing, I am sure glad Steve put out the greatest hits and houston dvd, especially for us younger fans that were not able to get to see Perry with Journey. I watch those dvd's all the time and cant believe how well they performed and sounded live!

For some reason I really don't care about any of this stuff anymore.
I just STFU and listen to the music and live my life.
Life is good too. Too good to be worried about what these dudes may or may not do with their own music. As an artist myself, I appreciate being able to do whatever the hell I want as it pertains to my own art.
