MR

Both say official on their homepage banners. Both also appear dead, traffic wise compared to when there was one site. Is there a third site where everyone goes? It can't be the official Journey site, that place is dead too.

Sites are pretty quite til concerts are playing. Things will pick up in a couple weeks. They were going to take the orignal site down but too many people were protesting and didn't want to move to the new one.

I believe it's the newer one, my pinay friend at work was confused too but then told me apparently there's some sort of drama between the 2 boards now since a new one came about, lol. She's a lurker since she's not the message board type, but she loves Arnel. I signed up at the new site when someone posted it here and gave her my password so she could post if she wanted to and she still won't, scaredy cat .

We're talking about the AP sites, a new site opened that was supposed to replace the old site but the old site decided not to close. The old site was unmoderated but the new one is so I guess that's where Rip is at.
They're both fan sites for AP, not Journey sites if that was what you are thinking. The Official Journey site doesn't have forums so there is nothing to moderate. You do however get to create your own blog and pretty much say what you want unless you go overboard I guess.

I have no clue, just what she told me! I don't read the old one anymore for another reason, but she does and keeps me updated at work She's headed to Manila soon over the summer to see her family, I told her to get brave and talk to the other "plokkers" and maybe she could meet some of them! lol

Been checking the new one for tour dates in case they don't get posted here, but from that blog yesterday I guess the dates that are up are pretty much it?

Steve's correcto, that is now the official site, and the other one is still active. I still visit the original site as well.

The "drama" regarding the change hasn't come from AP or anyone in charge of either site. Best I can tell, it's perpetuated by disgruntled fans who think AP answers to them or owes them explanations. Others have been spreading that the new site is only for "special" or "preferred" fans, and that others are treated very poorly there. That is complete rubbish, and everyone who has chosen to sign up and participate is extremely kind and friendly to everyone. They are the nicest of the nice. Now I have noticed some of the gripers log in and lurk a few times, but not try to chat with anyone. Hmm...

There's also some that come on the original site saying those that don't join the new site are not true AP fans and are making Arnel unhappy, etc, etc, or that make remarks in the SB on the new site saying some negative things about the old site in a broad stroke re all the members, not just the few causing problems, which I've read. I've heard 2nd or 3rd hand that has happened (never with clear details on who or when), but haven't witnessed it myself. Anyone who is stirring up that kind of trouble or promoting division among the fans is misguided, and not even respecting the wishes of Arnel himself for everyone to get along and not be divided.

People should pause and think about this very hard... they are fighting with others over which website they prefer, when both are available. It would be like me telling people they aren't true Journey fans if they don't participate at the official Journey site, or telling those members they aren't cool and in-the-know if they don't join the MR Journey discussion. I can't sugar coat this... LOL... it's STUPID. Everyone has a choice and a personal preference, and everyone is free to do whatever they want, no matter what anyone else says. People are also free to have fun and enjoy themselves or not to. But if they aren't having fun, that is a personal choice that they can't blame anyone else for.

I choose not to fight with anyone about stuff like this, and am having a great time wherever I go. Hope you are, too.

awww the world of message boards. i don't think any site is immune to the drama. people have personality, motivation, desire, etc... some are out to get whatever they can, anyway they can. anything to get close to the inner cirlcle, pathetic and misguided, sad.

Oh yes, it's already getting in the 90's here, I can just imagine how HOT we're going to be by July . I'll have to check on work stuff and maybe that one would work!

So far, Red Rocks is the only gig this year I'd really been considering. I even had a friend that is not on the boards e-mail me to suggest that venue as a really cool one when they saw the tour lineup. I know people were waiting for an L.A., Vegas, Dallas or Nashville, but I guess Neal's blog explains why those dates haven't appeared.

Exactly. I agree. I belong to both sites but at this point feel more comfortable on the old site. But I'm not really involved in either site anyway except casually. I just like to go on and check out any new news and find the older one easier and more comfortable for me and quicker. I don't plokk but watch discussions sometimes if Arnel comes on. I think the dissension came about b/c the move was done abruptly and people were confused and, obviously, there were issues behind the scenes, but that is nobody's business, and I agree Arnel doesn't have to explain it. But I'm glad they old site was kept open and feel it would have been a mistake to close it b/c that site and setup is preferable to many and most 6,000 members aren't active members and Arnel might have lost quite a few in the shuffle.

Right on... I was actually in the middle of editing a blog entry there when I noticed the change, so it surprised me too. I just went immediately to check it out and sign up, and I think there was real value in not announcing a new site until people could do just that. There are also some great updates to be added very soon thanks to feedback and suggestions from Plokkers, and I think everyone will be very pleased with them.
