 Old guys trying to rap and sound modern... I would have been better off just hearing the song and not seeing the video. The video ruined it for me...

It's not that bad...given what it IS.. here's my thoughts..

1) Not sure if anyone realizes that's not THAT new...it's nearly 2 years old...that album came out in '07
2) it's a decent version given the visuals he was probably working with for the new movie. It really DID need an updated sound...

This song is new. I know because I (sort of) know Stan Bush personally.

I heard the demo version of this song and this version not that long ago and I am honestly surprised its on youtube! I did not think he had released it yet.

The touch version on the 2007 album "in this life" is just like the original song except with not as good sounding keyboards and not as full in sound (or as processed should I say). None the less that version shows his ability to still sing really really really well and it on its own is pretty good.

So this is actually the 3rd version of the song. I have known for a while he was going to do a linkin park version, which I believe he had wanted to do for a while because linkin park made a song for the first one and I know that he figured he would have a better chance getting into the second movie with this very modern version of the song, or at least on the soundtrack.

The 2007 version was also made because they wanted him to make a new version of the song that was supposed to be in the 2007 movie as an ode to the fans but it was cut out or never used.

The song itself is pretty awesome considering he was able to take his best known song and totally modernize it well, and make it in the vein of exactly how he wanted it to be. I find it quite impressive and listenable.

The new video is really bad.......Stan bush made a new version of the video without the rapper guy and guitar player in it which is like 10 times better, but still bad. He made the new one in response to all the bad comments. Whether it hurts or helps him is to be seen, but the 1st version has gotten a lot of views.

I don't think it helps. I'm a huge Stan Bush fan, and his vocals are STILL amazing. It really ticks me off that they haven't included him in the Transformers revamping, as I think his songs are perfect for these films. He really did an outstanding job on the original movie. I like this remake he did (minus the cheesy video), as well as the new theme he recorded on his last cd. What better song for the main theme song of the movie??? Also, not a fan of how bad Bay has fucked up the looks of all of the Transformers. Go watch the cartoons asshole...they looked okay back then! :x
