I think I met Johnny Rotten today............He is said to hang around this area. Two brittish fellows were setting next to me at Starbucks. They were talking about buying fast American cars. They were discussing the merrits of this car or that one. We had a nice discussion.
Brits are not that common around here, and at first I thought their accent was Aussie. I had complemented them on their beautiful accents. I told Dan about them and he said, you might have been talking to Johnny R. He showed me a picture off of the internet, and this guy could have been a dead ringer for him, except his hair was shorter. As an artist I would say the features were the same.
I was drawing and they took intrest in my drawings. They both said they like it very much.
Anybody else with a weird could that be who I think it is story?

I told you I saw SP in a coffee shop in Nottingham didn't I?
He asked if he could take my photo and I politely declined.
Then he said, "I owe you money."
And "hey Suze, I'd really like to sing back up vocals on your next album."
Then he kept stalking me asking if he could come home with me to see my pet kitten.
Honestly, the guy doesn't know when to give up.

I used to work in one of the pubs very close to the Twickenham Rugby ground, and on match days we tended to get a fair number of famous and semi-famous people coming in for a post-match drink. Because it was always packed on match days, there were quite a few times when we'd serve someone and only twig later who it was. Fish from Marillion caught me out three times like that, but I did recognise the actors Hugh Laurie and Michael Praed when I served them. My boss once told Mick Jagger to wait his fucking turn, then dropped his pint when he realised who it was.

I met Springsteen at my gym - he was mastering at Gateway in Portland. He was there woking out, people were cool they just pretty much went about their workout....
Had drinks with Judd Nelson a couple times - he is from here, Dad still here and liked to party it up in the 80's.
Those are the two most memorable.....we get alot of musicians through here because of Ludwig.....Gateway is busy these days.

He came in quite a few times on quieter nights as well. Likes Beamish Red, the occaisional Guiness, and has an encyclopaedic knowledge of progressive rock and jazz.

I stood behind Michael McDonald at the Pizza Hut in the Memphis airport. I know for sure it was him because he was talking to a fan that he was on his way to Nashville to his recording studio. I met Leonard Nimoy (Mr Spock) at a political meet & greet in college when he was campaigning for George McGovern for president. I also saw Paul Newman when he was campaigning for Eugene McCarthy. My sister & I were shopping at the mall when all of a sudden women just abandoned their cars in the middle of the aisle in the parking lot and started running. We tried to figure out what was going on when I remembered that Paul Newman was supposed to give a speech outside the mall that day. We parked the car and followed the crowd. I don't remember what he said, but I do remember he was the most handsome man I had ever seen. Sigh
Oh and back in the mid 70's Al Jarreau who is from Milwaukee used to hang out at Wolski's Tavern. A fine establishment that I frequented at the time. He was a nice guy. He used to invite us to his gigs all the time, but we never went because we weren't into jazz. Then he moved to New York.
That my friends is my brush with fame. Pretty sad

I've had the pleasure of seeing two of the SPs on stage, Jonsey & Cookie. Pretty Vacant. MUCH fun with that. Never got to see Johnny tho. One day....one day.
Got to stand behind Linda Hamilton as we boarded a plane (right after T2). She had her kids with her (and definitely wanting NOT to be noticed, mobbed, etc). I just smiled and left her be, and she just smiled back. She of course, turned left as we entered the plane...and I right (to the back in the corner in the dark).

I met baseball legend Cal Ripken, Jr. at a crabhouse in Baltimore.
I was waiting for an order, and it wasn't ready.I turned to step away from the counter, and Cal was RIGHT behind me.
As fate would have it, my grandpop had passed away earlier that year, and my grandmom had sold their house, and in the process of moving her out, we found a HUGE amount of old Baltimore Orioles memorabilia that he had saved, in their garage ( he was an usher at the old Memorial Stadium after he retired).
I ran to my car and grabbed an old score car that Cal and his dad ( Cal, Sr.) on the front cover.
I went back in, and politely excused myself and showed it to Cal, who TOTALLY freaked out (in a good way) when he saw it.
He showed the book to someone that I believed was his agent, and I asked him if he would sign it (which he graciously did).
I now have that score card framed and hanging in my den.
He was TOTALLY cool and spent a lot of time talking to the little kids tat were freaking out over him.TOTAL gentleman and CLASS ACT!!!

Cool story Mike. Reminds me of when I was sitting not far from Johnny Unitas at an Orioles game in the mid-90's. In between every inning he was mobbed by a dozen or so people asking for autographs and pictures. He didn't turn down a single one. Baltimore is lucky to have had two of the best and classiest to ever play their sport.

On a flight from Amarillo, Texas to Vegas with a buddy of mine. We stop in Albuquerque to pick up more passengers, but don't deboard. Anyway, the plane is FULL of cowboys going to the National Finals Rodeo in Vegas. In Albuquerque, two long-haired guys get on the plane, decked out in leather jackets. I look up and say, "it's, it's,.....". My buddy SCREAMS, "IT'S CHRIS DeGARMO, MOTHERFUCKER!!!!!!!!" It was Chris Degarmo and Mike Brown (is that right?) from QUEENSRYCHE, who had played in Albuquerque the night before. They were headed to San Diego. The rest of the band had taken the bus. We motioned for Chris to come sit between us, which he did. We had a good, long visit about them playing Amarillo the year before, then Chris nodded off to sleep. My buddy kept pointing to Chris and mouthing the words, "That's Chris Degarmo, motherfucker!!!"

Ran into the C&W LEGEND, David Frizzell, in a laundromat in Weatherford, Oklahoma. I was washing clothes and damned if the guy next to me didn't look like David Frizzell. I look in the alley and there's a damned TOUR BUS!!!!!!! Anyway, he was very nice.
From time to time I run into one of the Los Lonely Boys, as they're from here. Got gas by Ringo one day and checked in line with JoJo at Academy.
