WHAT, THEMS IS FIGHTING WORDS!

The City & County of my place of birth and residential domain has decided to cut about 1,000 jobs starting next week. We in the health dept. field may get a note that in so many words states, "Your position has been cut." What? In my almost 50th year on earth I may lose my job with 2 no-job having fat, lazy-ass cats and my bus pass?! That is all I have to look forward to?! Well, I say, "Oh hell-to-the-no...thems is fighting words!"

Phew, had to get that out. Hey, thanks for reading my post.

Okay so, am I upset, will I hold on to all this negative energy? Naw, we are ALL in the same boat right now. We all need to just breathe and try to regroup. In my case by regroup I mean, tonight I will go to the restaurant/bar downstairs from where I live, listen to an Afro-Latin band, drink me some Lemon and Lime Drops, sit back and plot out how I will celebrate my birthday in a couple of months despite this economic aneurism. Then I will go home listen to the JSS Beautiful Mess CD, great piece of work, BTW - OOPS, and of course, can't leave out Steve Perry! His voice heals me for sure! Then I will sleep like a baby. FOR THE REST OF YOU PLEASE HAVE A BITCHIN' GREAT WEEKEND NO MATTER WHAT THE F*CK YOU ARE GOING THROUGH, SERIOUSLY. Hey, matter of fact, why don’t you all tell me about your ills and then at the end of the paragraph add this tag line...F*CK EM, FEED THE WHOLE WORLD FISH! I have no idea what that means, a girlfriend of mine says it all the time when she is stressed out.

ENJOY, ENJOY, ENJOY!!!

Good for you, babe. No point holding onto negative energy. All it does is suck valuable time from our lives. I do hope your job does not get cut though. Make those cats gets jobs just in case. Lazy bastards. All they do is lay around and sleep all day, except for those exhausting trips to the food bowl. Pimp those lazyasses out. There must be some cat litter or Fancy Feast that needs promoting.

And if they kick up a stink about it, just tell them you'll print "EVERLAST" on their sides and post them to SMFP if they don't shut up and pull their weight.

I feel your pain MBPL. All I can say is hope for the best, but prepare for the worst. In other words, get your "Plan B" together, girl. Stay positive, and whatever you do, DO NOT let yourself get caught up in other peoples negativity.

As for the cats, well, now that they're sufficiently fatted...

Have you considered a job in mass transit? I hear they give out free bus passes to employees. :D

Sorry to hear about the potential layoff. It sounds like you have the right mindset to get through it.

Here's a story from today to hopefully make you laugh:

I'm at Sam's picking stuff up for a party next weekend, and this crusty old guy in one of those cart scooters comes around the corner and asks very loudly if I work there :?:  (I'm pushing a cart full of party crap with my daughter sitting in the front of it.....does it LOOK like I work here?! ). Anyhow I was holding back laughing while smiling and told him "No, I'm sorry." So he asks anyhow if I know where the Cape Cod chips are saying loudly "Those are the best things in this damn store and now I can't find them, the bastards moved them!". Well at this point I'm having to stifle my smile and laughter extremely hard, not something I'm good at either, lol. Before I could say "I'll help you look for them", another lady, also trying to stifle laughter, told him where they are just around the corner, and he says again very loudly "Well what the hell did they move them over there for?", and proceeds to speed that little scooter that direction and the corner of it HITS the corner of those gigantic shelves and he comes to fast halt. But he was just fine, yells "Goddamitt!" and backs the scooter up -beep-beep-beep-, and proceeds to take off out of sight. It was then that I could no longer hold back my laughter, and neither could several others who witnessed the whole thing. I felt bad for laughing, but it was either that, or choking trying to hide it  .

MBPL...unemployment pay is there even if it sucks. As for the kitties, they'll glare at you and maybe bite your toes while you sleep...you'll learn like me to go hungry before kitty goes hungry!

The old gent sounds like one of my uncles! At my mom's funeral, he said something really loud when the preacher started his speech. :o

You guys are HYSTERICAL! Welp update...the big boss just had me in her office. Keep in mind it is my 3-day weekend, just found out my rent goes up in June, my mom's bills are high and my brother does not want to help me financially anymore and, blah, blah, blah...as of July I am out of a job. I'm a smart-ass, so you know what I asked my big boss? "What the f*ck are me and my cats gonna do now?" She smiled and tried to reassure me, but to be honest, I would rather see this as a postive and not a negative. I mean, EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON. Course, I understand those who have kids and why you would panic, so don't think I am being too "light" about the issue. It's just I want to be optimistic and put POSITIVE energy into the universe, that's all. But, if I can I WILL put those cats to work, tee, hee!

Until then...DRINKS ON EVERYBODY!! WHOO, HOO!

ABOUT MBPL and YT: I should be back with my videos as soon as I can, I am restructuring MBPL for a website series. That, my MBPL website and the budget is why I have not made more videos. Again, have a great wekend and thanks for putting up with me. L :D

MBPL I don't know how to break it to you, but you will never get a cat to do anything it doesn't want to do. But then, I suspect you already know that. Enjoy your weekend, and remember when one door closes, another one opens. Don't lose your sense of humor.

Melissa funny stuff! That's what you get (and find) when you shop at WallyWorld.

Hey MBPL, you're a funny, upbeat & positive person. Someone will like that and want to have you as their employee. They'll see the value in it so keep your chin up.

The good news for people that are able to do it with this bad economy is the great deals that are available out there now. I've been counter-acting this economic slump by going out and buying up shit. Screw it, if I lose my job I lose my job. Aint gonna worry about it. I've been seeing great deals on stuff because businesses need to sell.

Good luck to you, things WILL be better.

Hey, there -- I am SO sorry to hear about that. That really sucks. I have another Cali friend on the AP board who was facing the same thing recently. Best wishes for finding something else quickly, and hopefully it will be even better than your current job. And I also hope they give you unrestricted Internet access, too.
