Journey not on list

I,was reading my May 2009 issue of Rolling Stone mag. and noticed that Journey wasn't listed in their 2009 summer tour guide; I just wonder was it a slap in Journey's face or an honest oversight? ( because everyone and their grandmama was listed, but no Journey) :o

Journey and RS are not friends. Typical snubbing by RS. Their blatant bias is out of control. They took an interview of Arnel and blew it way out of context, making it sound like he was whining, hated his job and wanted to quit Journey.

So will I! I'm looking forward to it, actually. Arnel is going to help write it, as has already been mentioned by Neal Schon. It will be interesting, to say the least, to see the new direction they go in. :D

Not only that, but their liberal politics are way out of control. Somehow I became the victim of a free membership to RS, and there must be some darker force behind their political commentary. They probably hate Journey because Neal's a patriot who sometimes plays the National Anthem on his guitar.

Given their past feuds, I have a feeling the bastards planned to do that from the very beginning. They knew English isn't Arnel's first language and they took advantage of that by asking difficult questions.

Those questions were basic and fine questions. Difficult questions? No way. But they took the interview and edited it to give it a certain slant and a misleading Enquirer like title.

At least before they got shitty, they had SME decent content to make up for it. I prefer Goldmine

As funny as that sounds, it might not be far from the truth.

The fact that Journey Boyz themselves dont have a full tour schedule and just get the "dates added " on a weekly basis could be the main reason why they werent mentioned in RS, but I could be wrong . :?

This is probably the case. I don't know why everything has to be a conspiracy when it comes to Journey and the way they are treated by RollingStone. Their are dozens of other groups out their who don't get major pub from the magazine.

Conspiracy? Journey is not in the Rock Hall yet and is there any connection between the nominating parties and Rolling Stone? Yep. There is a conspiracy. How else can it be explained or justified that Journey is not Rock Hall quality? They have paid their dues and contributed way more than some others who have been inducted. Grabs my tin foil hat.... Nope, no conspiracy here........

Besides the Greatest Hits, how many Journey albums have gone Diamond?
Look at Def Leppard, two Diamond albums with Hysteria and Pyromania, Hysteria with seven singles in the Hot 100.

Sounds like HOF to me but not even a whisper. And Rolling Stone likes them.
If RS has so much pull, DL would have been in the HOF long ago, don't you think?

Here's Time Magazine's list of the top 10 acts snubbed by the R&R HOF. You all can boycott their magazine too now. They obviously hate Journey, right?

Kiss
Def Leppard
Pat Benatar
Genesis
Chicago
Boston
The Doobie Brothers
Rush
The Moody Blues
Cheap Trick

Wrong! I don't think Journey is hated, but I do feel that Journey is due some respect for hanging in there when they could have just thrown in the towel and called it a day. They have and still do work hard you know.... God gave them a talent, one they refuse to sit down on. JMO :)

Of couse they work hard but so does every band on that list. There has to be stricter criteria than longevity in your chosen profession though. That's when #1 songs, Diamond album sales, and creating your own musical genre come into the picture.

Journey pretty much created, defined and mastered a genre.

In all fairness I'd say Boston are more responsible for the creation of Journey's genre.

Journey is an "international" band now... I have a hard time believing Rolling Stone is relevant outside of the US... and maybe some of Europe...

Besides... Rolling Stone and the HOF are like the Democrats and the Republicans... wolves cut from the same skin... the fans decide what they like....

RS and HOF are largely irrelevant..

Journey sold more records in Japan from 79 to 84 than all their overseas sales from ROR to Revelation combined. Seems they were an International band back then also.

I do agree about the HOF being irelevant and I find it tacky that Journey has the "Vote for me" banner on their website.

The inclusion AP helped bring them partially back to their Asian fanbase which the band had lost during the ROR period. I can agree with this.
