Just to Clarify

I dunno ... I rather like that song. Yes, it is overexposed, and my most loved version is still the original, by the singer who we will probably never hear sing that song ever again ... but, oh well?

Officially stop DSB? Are you joking? That song almost seems to be enjoying more popularity nearly 30 yrs after it's release than it ever has. You have to wonder, of all the songs from the '80, some of which were much bigger hits than DSB, why on earth does this one song keep resurfacing?

Anyway, for get about it. It's like a freakin' vampire - you can't kill it, and it won't die... :D :D

  Now THAT was a funny image. I think since Jeremey's the one that brought that crap in here...maybe HE should dress up like Bates and his mother and record himself singing both parts. THAT would be funny.

This use to be one of my favorite songs, period.

I still love the Steve Perry version of this song, though, even that is getting quite tired.

And I usually love when Journey gets so much attention..

But in the last month or two alone, you've had American Idol, Glee, and Constantine and Co. (what is it the musical, "Rock of Ages"?)

,,, all pretty much butcher this poor song,

All of which might have been tolerable, and even fun, if not right on top of each other.

But now even I would be quite happy not to hear this song again for a while.

Not saying drop it from the set list,, that would be silly,

just PLEASE stop letting it be used every second of every freakin' day....
maybe space it out it little better for the long term health of the song,,,
that's all.

Agreed, the current treatment of the song is not bringing it back to life in a good way but rather making a mockery of it and killing it off by the current renditions plus the over saturation, imo.

I don't like endorsements but love hearing DSB on the radio or as part of TV or movies...

See Foreigner has pimped out Hot Blooded to Coors Light (and what an HUMOURless daft commercial that is).

I think the 81 version from Tokyo That MTV aired when the album first came out is the best live performance of the song.

I went to a bar tonight and heard DSB (the Arnel version because it's on the discounted tracks) twice. I wanted to punch to jukebox when I heard it the second time, quite frankly.

So tired of that song.

Open Arms is one I can't stomach. I think that song is a 2 play song, yearly.
