OT: Internet Explorer 8 Issues

Has anyone here been having problems with Internet Explorer 8? It seems that it doesn't like the posting forms on this forum. If you scroll to the bottom of the form, it sends you back to the top and you cannot see what you are typing.

What a pain!

I'm on a PC for the first time in a long time and it's an older Sony VAIO. Probably within 1-2 years of XP's release. It's amazing how much better this era was for Windows/PCs in general. Not half bad.

I have IE8, but I only use it on websites that Firefox doesn't work well with. Firefox brudda, it's the shit.

IE 8 is the biggest piece of shit in the history of pieces of shit.

1) Can't log-in to my bank with it
2) Can't submit payroll with it
3) Can't print a UPS shipping label with it
4) AOL's Instant Messenger within its webmail acts funny with it (can't scroll down without it popping back up)

Stay the fuck away from this turd.

Do you use it when you visit this forum? If so, do you have the form scrolling problems that I mentioned in my first post?

I just installed it this morning at work over IE 6 and haven't had any problems. The first release I had problems like you described on my home computer, but they went away when I uninstalled it and downloaded the newest build instead of relying on the updates.

I switched to Firefox when you recommended it last year, it runs a lot faster and cleaner than IE.

I used to use FFox until IE8. It blows FF away. The only problem I have with it Is exactly what you described. When replying it will do this word thing and bounces the cursor up if the reply box us more than dozen lines long ( like when you quote someone ). But it only does it here, it works fine at other forums.
Hope there will be a fix soon ,,,,

I've been using it since it was released on my main PC and it works great. My backup PC didn't like it though. Odd....

Ditto! I haven't used IE for anything in ages. I'm all Safari, unless I need to download art files or pdfs, and for that Firefox seems to agree with Adobe web interface better. Safari gets kind of confused and doesn't load as fast. I think the last version of IE I had and/or used was 5 or 6 maybe.

I still prefer IE when on PC truthfully. I mainly use Apples, but I find Firefox to have the same problems on both platforms - it's slower than the mainstream alternative! Maybe I don't optimize the thing right, but I always found compatibility/display issues+overall speed of Firefox lacking versus Safari and IE.

I thought it was a problem with andrews board, i have had the same problem here when i quote something verbose...like anything blueskies posts

My being " verbose" is when I feel expansion to detail is called for in either making my opinions clear or in relating an experience.
I saw this article recently that may give some insight as to why I would write a lot sometimes in certain circumstances...
http://www.forbes.com/2009/05/13/lie-de ... =yahoobuzz

Since you appearently don't like to read much here is a pertinent quote from the article:

""Liars often give short or one-word responses to questions, while truth tellers are more likely to flesh out their answers. According to a 2003 study by DePaulo, a liar provides fewer details and uses fewer words than an honest person, and talks for a smaller percentage of the conversation. ""

And this quote may give insight as to why I may edit my posts sometimes:

""Liars are often reluctant to admit ordinary storytelling mistakes. When honest people tell stories, they may realize partway through that they left out some details and would unselfconsciously backtrack to fill in holes. They also may realize a previous statement wasn't quite right, and go back and explain further. Liars, on the other hand, "are worried that someone might catch them in a lie and are reluctant to admit to such ordinary imperfections," says DePaulo""

so....regardless if some like you, SJ, and Behshad don't like long posts and you only write short ones for the most part....I will write as much or as little as I feel the circumstance calls for when and wherever I wish. ( and I'm certainly far from being the only one to write lengthy posts at times).
...with that said...
It's well past time you set your thoughts onto something or someone else rather then to keep bringing me into them...your "shtick" is as played out as the " friga " stuff is.....move on.
