I don't know why I haven't stumbled across this earlier, but Rob Zombie is set to release the re-make of Halloween: Halloween II to come out August 28th! I thought he was one and done since the thing that happened at the end pretty much could have sealed it (won't spoil for the people who haven't seen it.) Reports have it that this movie is more realistics this time, and things occur in the movie that you could see in real life events when dealing with this script.

Rob Zombie said you will not be making comments as to been there done that type attitude, and this whole movie is F-R-E-S-H. He said he went towards the movie of the guidelines for his first movie, and didn't want to toy with it and this new movie lets him get deeper into a dark and sick character that he likes to explore and he didn't have that in the first one. THIS LOOKS KICKKK-ASSSS!!! It's a good day for horror fans. Some might be sick of it, but I love it. LEGENDS NEVER DIE. Can't wait for a Krueger re-make!

Here's the trailer for Zombie's H2.

I love Zombie's movies. I wish he would make another movie with the characters from The Devil's Rejects.

They filmed in my friends little city in Georgia. She might even be in some of the background scenes.

I thought the first one was horrible and not even in the same galaxy as the original.

I bet that is why he is saying these comments about the second one because the first one sucked so much.

See I'm the opposite, I loved the remake half of RZ's H NOT the 1st hour which I skip over. Not huge on this one being filmed 3000 miles from where the first one was filmed but I am intrigued by the notion of the bearded maskless Myers w/ gunshot wound to the head that is supposed to appear in the film.

Beautiful choice if it's official. I'll be awaiting this movie with high anticipation since Nightmare is my all time favorite horror film!

For the first time since 1989, I won't be venturing to the theater to see this Halloween film. I hated what Zombie did to the story all the way around. Of course I also wasn't a fan of re-recording Greatest Hits.

In better news, I was talking with Alan Howarth the other day (he did the soundtracks for Halloween 2-6) and he's working on special edition releases of the soundtracks for each of those films. Part 3 was already released and apparently 4 is next.

Whoa whoa whoa... someone is considering remaking Elm Street?!

This needs to not happen. I love those flicks, leave them alone.
That damn ass Frreddie vs. Jason was bad enough.

Granted, I would see a remake because curiousity would not be able to keep me away. But still.

The Halloween one, maybe. I was never that attached to the originals.
I'm not too sure about Rob... I like him, and got screwed out of seeing him love TWICE  ...
but after House of 1000 Corpses, I couldn't bring myself to watch The Devil's Rejects.

I may have to check out this Halloween business though. Sounds pretty cool.

So it's true. How have I not heard this?

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1179056/

Ok... I'll make a deal... get Johnny Depp back, and I'll get on board.

This is sketchy. If they do it right, it could be ok. But someone that isn't Robert Englund as Freddie?
I'm gonna need lots of convincing. And Wes Craven is part of this too... that kind of surprised me.

I'm gonna give it a chance...Jackie Earl Haley, to me anyway, is a great choice.

First, "Halloween II" is not a remake of the original sequel. It is a sequel to Rob Zombie's "Halloween". It focusses on Laurie and the only similarity is that it starts immediately after part 1 in a hospital scene.

Second, I am looking forward to the Elm Street re-boot as they are going to portray Freddie as sinister, yet part victim as opposed to the wise-cracking nightmare he became in the original series. I think the possibility that he was incorrectly found guilty of the charges adds more bite to the 'vengeance' factor of Freddie's character. Can't wait to see if that is where it actually goes...

Yeah, I'm a little interested to see what they do with it also. I still think they should leave a classic alone (I'm not much on remakes, but occasionally I do fall in love with one, like Ocean's 11), but my own insane curiousity won't allow me to skip it.

The preview I saw featured Michael Meyers following orders delivered by his deceased mother, basked in white, presumably speaking from beyond the grave. Freudian mommy issues were already well-exploited by the Psycho and Friday the 13th franchises.
I'll see it, but at this point, I have little faith in Zombie to deliver the goods.
