It was hard to tell if that was planned or not, but Eminem seemed annoyed as hell. The storming out with the bodyguards could have been staged. If that was real and not planned, then bravo, funny stuff. Basically, anyone that wants to screw with Eminem and piss him off has my vote. :D

I mean really, it's the MTV awards, you have to expect stuff like that, so if Eminem was truly mad, then F him for being a stick in the mud.

While waiting for Breaking Bad to start, I had it on the eMpTyVee Movie Awards. I saw Cohen/Bruno float out and hit something, but I missed the "precision landing" and caught where all of Eminem's homeez were "swatting" Cohen away. Then they left. Awesome!!!

Btw, are those really all his bodyguards? Or just his homeez? I didn't see anyone else there with a whole row to themselves.

They had the row to themselves because it was staged. This is my conclusion after seeing it a second time. The cameras were blocked perfectly and he just happened to land right on Eminem in that exact position... come on.

They had the row to themselves so it would be easy for Eminem and company to get up an pretend to storm out.

The first camera moved and zoomed; it was probably staged, but something tells me Eminem wasn't expecting a close encounter with Cohen's ass 'n' balls. Not that close, anyway.

And don't most rappers who take themselves too seriously always have a row to themselves for their "posse"?

MTV is so friggin' stupid anyway. Can't believe that people still watch it. Waste of cable space.

Absolutely.

I watched about half before I gave up, but really, I only watched for Andy Samberg and the Harry Potter preview.

Who cares? Y'all are acting like brown eye and balls in the face isn't something FEMinem doesn't experience multiple times daily.

I never watch that p.o.s. I was waiting for the season finale of Breaking Bad and I figured I may as well catch some Samberg comedy. :)

Forget M&M. I want to know why it was so awful and inappropriate when Howard Stern wore a bareass costume on the MTV awards, but then Sasha Baron Cohen does it, and no one says a word except that it was funny (which it was!). SBC was half naked with his jewels in another guy's face! At least Stern had a full costume on except the ass part and kept his balls to himself.

What can you say? Times, they are a changin'. Besides, I don't know which was funnier, "Bruno" swinging from the rafters bare-assed with a pair of angel wings, or the fact that the whole operation just about landed smack on Eminem's chin. Not a fan of Eminem, so it couldn't have happened to a more deserving individual, IMO.

Maybe because it was 17 yrs ago and things have changed quite a bit since then, back then a bare ass was huge now its a normal every day occurrence

Back in the 80's CBS Viacom owned MTV. Maybe they still do. At one time were about playing videos, concerts and interviews. Somewhere around 1988 they became a trash channel and I would not let my kids watch. I am so glad to see them screw up ! Or.... was that planned. Anyway, they have caused trash to be accepted as normal and I feel sorry for parents today with many channels.

Had to have been staged, could have been too unpredictable. How do they know he wouldn't have kicked his ass.............and too many other people he was hanging over. Think they are going to take the chance of any of those celebrities getting injured. Ya right.

100% staged. M&M is a manufactured property, does what he's told to do. If the execs want him to snort ass, he's going to do it. If anyone thinks M&M is "real"...I've got a Steve Perry concert ticket to sell you. ;)

Probably because not enough people watch the network to bitch. They could put whatever they wanted on and nobody would see it. That's probably why they did this stunt, to get some attention for their crap network. I hate that channel.

Actually it was suppose to be staged, Eminem was suppose to show up for rehearsal and he didn't, so he really had no idea what was going on. So when it happened, he thought it was real.

YAHOO! BUZZ LOG

MTV Writer Admits 'Bruno' Stunt Was Staged

by Mike Krumboltz    June 2, 2009

On Sunday night, when Sacha Baron Cohen's alter-ego Bruno descended from the rafters and landed fanny-first on Eminem's head, most folks figured that the rapper's rage was the real deal. Suckers! Not only was Eminem in on the joke, he and Baron Cohen rehearsed it to make sure it would all go according to plan.

Suspicions over the legitimacy of "butt-gate" had been brewing for days, but it wasn't until a writer for the MTV Movie Awards confessed that we all knew for sure. On his blog, head writer Scott Aukerman wrote that the incident was staged. "They rehearsed it at dress (rehearsal) and yes, it went as far as it did on the live show." Wow. Let it never be said that Eminem isn't a team player.

According to the New York Daily News, Eminem wasn't Baron Cohen's first choice for the joke. That honor, which was tragically declined, went to Paris Hilton. Just imagine the buzz had that happened. Still, Eminem did a great job of selling the stunt considering he "may not have been briefed on just how naked Baron Cohen's flying 'Bruno' would be when he agreed." What a pro.

Even before the writer's admission that the crash landing was planned, the searches had a suspicious slant. Throughout Monday, lookups on " was the eminem bruno stunt staged" and "eminem bruno joke" posted strong gains. Blogs, like this one from the Chicago Tribune, raised the possibility that the audience had just been played.
Now that the joke has been confirmed, queries are surging on "bruno eminem fake stunt." We'd say we feel used, but we're too busy laughing.

What's funny about that, though? Paris Hilton with balls and ass in her face?
And...?

That's about as unique as me getting up and driving to work.

Got a point. I just got a chuckle out of the fact that his first choice to humiliate was Paris Hilton. Maybe the funny part is is that she actually declined.
