Steve Augeri [Tall Stories] at BB Kings, NYC last nigt

I'm not usually one to start a topic, but noticed that the Journey board hasn't had too much news lately, so I thought I would pass on that Steve Augeri and Jack Morer played a mini-acoutstic set at BB Kings last night. Steve is evidently friends with someone in the main or support act, and he was asked to play. I got a chance to meet Steve for the first time afterwards, and he seemed disappointed that their set was cut in half due to time contraints, and was surprised that I made the trip from outside Philly just to check them out. They played 3 songs from the new TS CD Skycrapper... "Tomorrow," "No Justice," "All of The World," & then ended with a very cool acoustic rendition of "Faithfully." He sounded very good, imo, and the crowd thought that he nailed "Faithfully," even the high parts at the end of the song. Good time, too bad they didn't get to play more.

hey I was there too!! :D Apparently BBKings had not informed The Tubes there were two other sets and The Tubes were adamant about going on as close to 8:00 as possible as they are flying over to the UK for some shows today, so Steve and Jack had to cut their set short. They were supposed to do roughly 45 minutes. First time in NYC the main act WANTS to hit the stage on time lolol. I'm sure there are are more acoustic shows coming up in NYC in the near future.

did you hand Jack the TS cd to sign? I was sitting next to him. :)

Yes things have been too quiet here......as far a actual news - nice to see he is out performing again! Anyone know if there is a plan for more in the near future?

Good to hear SA and Jack are back in action, even if it is a shortened set.
Let's hope it leads to even more collaborations in the future.

I looked like a couple family members may have been recording things with their cameras/phones, but who knows if they will end up on YouTube or stay in the "private" collection.

Great read.
Why am I not surprised to learn Augeri was the recipient of death threats by crazed Perry fanatics?

I love the mention of Jeff Beck's bassist. She is amazing and looks to be all of 17 years old (I don't know her actual age). I was watching the show and there was a spot in one of the songs that Jeff backed off to the side of the stage and watched her play. By the end of her solo he came back out to continue and couldn't start. He just turned back to her, raised his hands, applauded her. You could see real admiration in his face. Coming from a legend like that means a helluva lot!!
