If you like the classic pop sound of early 70's singer-songwriters like Carol King and early Elton John, check out Diane Birch.

Now.

Trust me on this.

Not sure. [Thanks for the compliments, everyone.]

We have been updating our 80's show recently because having ALL 80's stuff was making it a bit jaded - and we have put some newer songs in it to kind of modernise it a little.
This show is designed to get people up dancing at parties and in Clubs and I haven't recorded my vocals on many of these kind of songs because I'm not sure they translate to CD as well as the easy listening songs do.

But maybe I will book a little studio time and record some of those. They may not be anyone's cup of tea on here although we have done The Corrs version of Fleetwood Mac's "Dreams."
We don't do any Journey [too high for my range] and as you all know from the samples you have heard, my voice isn't really a 'rock' voice.

But if I record some more, I will let you know. :)

Since we are talking about new/ unknown artists, anyone know Marion Raven?

Here she is with her first big hit in the States.

And here she is with Meatloaf. What a change a few years make.

She sounds JUST like Carole King !! She writes, sings etc.... Pretty cool find. REAL artist are rare these days. By real artist I mean they write and perform their own music.

Yep, that's what I try to tell the younger kids in my family, who are in to the Top 10 stuff of today. The real artists to be credited for today's Top 10 are the producers. All they need is a voice. Could be yours, could be mine, doesn't matter. They adjust it to their likings and needs, and BOOM, Top 10 hit. If you picked ten brand new, never heard songs by ten of today's biggest selling artists, without telling the listener who they are...I guarantee the listener wouldn't be able to correctly identify 75% correctly.
