I just HAD to post this (if hasn't been posted somewhere else already, which it most likely has) because there are SOOOOOOOOO many AP sychophants posting on blogs that "Revelation" has sold millions!!! Congrats!! Bullshit. Jon Cain states they have sold "about 750,000" to date. Can't find any facts? We'll just MAKE THEM UP AS WE GO ALONG!!

anyone claim that Revelation was anything but platinum. There
has been some specualtion that this summer's tour could possibly push it to double platinum (1 million packages sold) but that's about all I've seen.

I have looked at all of the Walmart's here - there are 4 stores no copies in stock...Walmart.com out of stock as well...so there is Ebay and some of those are used as well as Amazon and the Journey web-site as I was reminded today

Wal-Mart isn't seeing enough demand to make another run of discs probably. They don't even keep the exclusive releases from the Eagles or AC/DC in stock and those albums outsold Revelation twice over. Music is only two percent of the store's business, it's not a priority for them at all, especially for an album over a year old.

We know how to do math. RIAA has certified Revelation platinum. Each disc in a pack counts, so with Revelation having 2 music discs, 500,000 albums sold still equals 1,000,000 discs sold, hence the platinum status. Trickfuckery at it's best, some will say.

The math doesn't matter, RIAA certified it platinum. Now that Journey has set the bar with an album pretty much written before Arnel walked in the door, the next release has a big task ahead of it. Platinum or double platinum will prove that Revelation wasn't a fluke buoyed by the incluson of a greatest hits disc and free DVD.
As for the comment about Journey making millions off the last tour, Azoff Music made millions off the last tour. The spoils left after Management's cut was probably 50% Journey, 30% Heart and 20% Cheaptrick. Journey's cut will also be used for the stagecrew since their guys did all the stagework. One point, Arnel wasn't a ful lfledged member of the band until, AFTER the tour, so I think he was paid on a per show basis, unlike the other guys. He has his own manager to pay also if I'm not mistaken.
AP probably needs to get rid of that De Leon Guy, I wonder how long he's under contract with him?

With Arnel being under contract with him last year, Journey was using him on De Leon's time so he probably got a nice fee from Arnel's per show checks. The royalties should be totally exempt from that dude but if Journey is serious about keeping Arnel, they need to buy out his contract. Letting DeLeon parade him around on his TV shows was worthless. The Manila concert still didn't sell out and Revelation has only sold 15k CDs in the Philippines (Platinum in the RP is 15k for international artists just so you know)
Journey needs to sever that chain for Pineda.
