Amsterdam set list

Tonights show in Amsterdam wasn't the best i've seen, Arnel'voice sounded ggod but his timing just wasn't right. Ross and Neal also looked irritated about that a few times. Setlist:

Majestic
Seperate Ways (new arrangement)
Never Walk Away
Onlly the Young
Ask the Lonely
Stone in Love
After all these Years
Change for the Better
Neal Jon acousstic and hharp intro
Wheel in the sky (cut short imo)
Lights
What I needed
Jon intro
Open Arms
Mother Father (Een vocals and best song of the show)
Wildest Dreams
Escape
Faithfully
Don't stop believing
Any way you want it
encore:
Lovin Touching Squeezin
Be Good to yourself

Heineken Music Hall was close to sell out but band - crowd interaction was nowhere as good as 2006 and 2007 shows in Holland.

Hmmm, this is the worst review I've seen in some time. I wonder what was off? We'll have to wait to see the Youtubes, I guess.

If the 2006 show was with tape, this could be a case of "What comes around goes around".

If he is being measured against a show that sounded great because of enhancements, he is sort of at a disadvantage, especially if he is still sick.

Not his fault but you know, Sins of the father and all that.

it appears that journey has come out smelling like a rose. they're playing, making money, and having fun. they don't give a rat's ass about the fans they deceived, a damn shame... lip sync, lie, blame and move on.

Oh dear.. the rumours that Perry is trying to sabotage Journey are true. He has secretly become APs personal shopper.... Stripped blue tie .. with a red shirt. Oh dear.

Arnel is making these songs into his own, and he's doing a damn good job of doing it. 1:15 esp I like the new spin he's putting on the notes. This guy is turning the dirty dozen into something fresh. I love what he's doing.

 He has no other choice. He can't measure up to the original, so he's changing them up. Can't blame him. If a person followed Superman, he'd have to learn to fly in a different way.

And P.S. Tell Little Ben to quit messing around with golf and concentrate on football. His career only has a couple years left. He still can't carry Marino, Brady and Manning's jock straps.

Holy shit you make no sense. Why would you want to come in here and crash this thread? I see what your motives are. You must like getting your ass kicked in flame wars. I'm pretty sure no one wants to see the bickering back and forth about football and your man love for Steve Perry. Football aside, I think it's Steve Perry who can't carry Arnel Pineda's jock strap at this current day.

Again.. stick to predicting Steve Perry's solo album and what month and year it'll be hitting stores. The ticker now reads 0-12. Jackass.

PS NICE EDIT. Smart man... smart man.

Ouch! Measure up? If Arnel had come on the scenes in the 80's with the band, I believe he too would be legendary. He brings a lot to the act. I dunno, I can't seem to discount him as others do. I think he's still a work in progress and so far I am very impressed. He does have big ass shoes to fill, however. I think he's doing great and will be a household name once they get another great album or two out.

Shoes to fill? The shoes to fill would be Steve Augeri's since Augeri filled Perry's shoes for 8 years. Much love to Steve Augeri, who I think is a FINE vocalist and who I am a big fan of, but Arnel in what? Not even in 2 years and has already surpassed all the talent Augeri had to offer, and that isn't a knock on Augeri. That, to me, just goes to show how big of a REAL DEAL, AP, really is. Give him a couple more years and he'll have this thing mastered.. guaranteed.

Give the guy some props, he's got humongous shoes to fill. On top of that, he's got naysayers complaining about everything he does. If he changes them up, it's because he can't measure up, but if he sings them just like Perry, he's mimicking him.

I say just let the man do his job. A job I think he's doing extremely well for the short time he's had to prove himself.

Rick, you're the man. Short, sweet, and to the point.

steveO I agreed with your post too, but had to go off on filling Perry's shoes comment. Whoever pays close attention to my posts, learns that I'm not too fond of Perry in today's age and the fans pour on that sourness about him as well. I'm sick of hearing about Perry and his hay day back in 1980. I would love to go back and witness The Steelers dynasty in the 70's but unfortunately, I can't. I got 2 Super Bowl victories and maybe more in this decade that I can enjoy and move forward. Journey fans won't allow themselves to do that and it really gets under my skin and Perry is the main culprit behind all of it.

I really wish Perry would come out on tour and sing Journey material, bomb like he would at 60, so everyone can appreciate what true talent Neal has found in Arnel and how Journey is back to partying hard.
