OT | FRONTIERS IN DETROIT SATURDAY (FILLMORE THEATRE)

Just a head's up for you in the Detroit area, Frontiers will be headlining the 2,100 seat Fillmore Theatre in Detroit this Saturday...Don't miss what promises to be a great show - We'll be debuting pretty much a whole new band besides Greg and myself, with Stephen Chesney (Waking Jonah) on guitar, Steve Fordham (Mavis Staples) on keys, and my old bud from Roanoke Gary Hall on drums. If you want to see what happens when 5 people meet for the very first time and perform a 2 hour show seven hours later, this could be the show for you!

Actually, quite confident things will go off without a hitch, these guys are pros and have been practicing for weeks. Hope some of you can make it to the show.

Also, looking forward to Dallas and Houston next weekend!!

J

Jeremey, give us a report after the show will ya? I am curious as to what the state of Detroit proper is and filling 2100 will be tough won't it? I know DET is a Journey town, but givn the sad economy there, will be interesting to see how it plays out.

You guys play the Detroit Medley by any chance? CC Rider, Devil with a Blue dress on, etc?

Also, I would like to see you come to LA. There are a few Journey cover bands here...would like to see who stacks up best. There is one Journey band that plays Hollywood Park Friday Nights a lot and they suck runny ass.

Wow...that place is huge. It used to be called the State Theater before they raped the ghost of Bill Graham and renamed it. Saw some great shows there back in the day. Hope you guys get a good crowd...and come to Nashville sometime, will ya? ;)

Will do....We will be happy to sell 600-800 tickets....LiveNation is always very good about promotion and filling seats also, so I'd expect close to 500 comps as well between radio promo and LiveNation. It's the largest venue we have played. The House of Blues shows in CLV, CGO, NOL are all about 800-1200 seats and we have filled those rooms. Who knows! Our first time in the market, so we shall see!

We don't do the Detroit Medley actually....Since these are nearly all new players, we're pretty much scaling down our original arrangements and transitions as well, until we've had a chance to hash them out as a unit.

You don't know fear until 3/4ths of your band drops out of the largest show you've ever booked 4 weeks before the show. Ever have that dream where you're in front of 2100 people and you realize you forgot to put on any pants? Saturday, that dream becomes my reality!

Would love to get to Nashville...We've had the offers, but with routings that have made no sense...IE "I see you're in Vermont on Friday, why not come to Nashville on Saturday!?" We get close though. Will give you a heads up when we confirm something there.

We have a NY/VT routing in September and we're looking to tag something in Boston on for the week as well.

Oh, by the way...I hear there's ALREADY a Frontiers in Boston! Catch any of their shows?

I thought it was guitars, keys AND drums? All I have to say is that I hope the crowd doesn't look like this when you're done playing... . That's a LOT of changes prior to your biggest indoor venue without even 1 rehersal. I wish you the best of luck, and I hope it goes over well.

Kenny will be with the band through July but had to have off this week - Stephen is playing tonight and next week in TX to get him more comfortable with things. Russ and Andy left earlier this month, and their full time replacements start tonight....Gary Hall on drums and Steve Fordham on keys....

Just ran through the entire show and soundcheck and it sounds great! Hope to see a few of you out here tonight.

Post show report - Nothing close to 2000 people of course! But par for the course on our first time in to build a venue. All told maybe 600 people paid and comped. GREAT crowd in Detroit and did meet some MR people after the show as well. The venue basically saw the SECOND show we did that day, as we rehearsed from 2 pm until 7 pm (yes, I sang the whole show twice)....So with respect to what these guys were able to pull off within hours of meeting each other, I was really happy. It was NOT the show I would want for Detroit, but the chops are all there, we just needed to work the kinks out....You do what you gotta do!

Hope to meet even more folks this week in Dallas and Houston...

Glad to hear the show went well...I've played many a gig spontaneously like that, but rarely playing such intricate music. Congrats!

I saw something similar to that in Lynchburg a few years ago!!!

Remember that, Jeremey...???
