Put in Revelation last night. Haven't listened to it in awhile and I got say it still holds up. That is a sign of a good album (CD in modern terms). All the songs I liked several months ago, I still do and the ones that were jusk o.k. for me (songs 4-6) are still just o.k. with the exception of AATY maybe moving into the good column.

I remember buying this CD 1 year and 2 weeks ago outside of Grand Rapids, Michigan after the last Van Halen concert (excluding one off in Quebec). Bought it right at midnight. Actually several minutes after midnight because the bitch manager wouldn't get the damn thing right away and didn't stock it yet. I still should've called corporate on her ass.

2. Got to disagree on Arrival v. Revelation. At the time, I liked Arrival a lot. However, over time that hasn't held up as much. There are still good songs on that disc, but a lot of songs I liked at the time I don't care for as much. Grant it, there were 15 songs on that album (CD), so there may have been the same amount of good songs on each album. But, Revelation had the higher percentage of good songs.

Take the rockers from Arrival against Revelation as a whole anyday.....no contest.

The rock stuff on Arrival was great. The ballad content was way too much though.

The new album (not counting the retreads) is a great cohesive and well balanced album.

Only one that I don't really dig is "What it Takes to Win". The lyrics are super cheesy to me.

I listen to Revelation every morning. Here's my order I usually go in. Never Walk Away, Change for the Better, Faith in the Heartland, Turn down the World Tonight, After all these Years, and on occasion Wildest Dreams and Know What It Takes To Win. Then I'll skip around to the songs I know I've missed. I've found myself time and time again skipping Wildest Dreams and esp. What I Needed, and Sunshower. Sunshower is a nice change up once in awhile. Where Did I Lose Your Love is one I love when I remember it's there.

Overall, Revelation is great and is one I'll always listen to. Arrival was one of my fav's but let my buddy borrow it and he scratched it all up. Fucker. Couldn't find Arrival in stores since I bought it about 4 years ago in Target for about 10 bucks. I must get that back, even if I get it off ebay when I get a chance.

My dream would be to have Like A Sunshower in concert. It will never happen, more retro southern rock sound, slow, '70s hippy dippy. I love that song. TDTWT, I will always love that song too. Very melancholy but moving.
