INTERPRET JOURNEY LYRICS

You're caught up in the power
A blue magical maze
Now the circle is broken
In a spellbinding rage
Better see if you're holdin'
The wrong edge of the blade

What do think is the meaning of the whole stanza.

Some songs were written when drugs were still prevalant, so it could really mean something, or it could mean nothing.

Seems like I read somewhere that it was about a record label or record labels in general.

This isn't really an interpretation of sorts; it's more like a clarification but there isn't a thread for that. :?

This is in regards to the opening line of "Ask The Lonely." Is it:

(a) You've been thinking it's over, what's that chip on your shoulder...."
(b) You've been picked and it's over, what's that chip on your shoulder...."

If you Google the lyrics you come up with both answers so that doesn't help me any. I heard a story that (b) was the original line but that for airplay they had to go with (a) because it had a "softer" meaning & therefore was more "airplay friendly" because (b) conjures up an image that the guy just used the girl & tossed her aside & the label didn't feel that was the right image they wanted for Perry.

Can anyone confirm or deny the above?

Could it be that blue magical maze is the corporate world? And that the partner/spouse is a workaholic thus fracturing the relationship.

Well I seem to remember wheel in the sky is based of a poem written by Ross's wife Mary. I am almost positive that I read that in Time 3... Cocaine is a hell of a drug lol

Ugh probably something to do with the commitment of the words... blah blah blah lol

Ok dokey your turn.....

No surrender dont come easy
We try to get over... over
Everybody feels the rain
fallin together... together

I was always under the impression that "Edge of" was about divorce. The woman is married to somebody famous (possibly a member of the band) and now is dirvorcing him, and wants to take him for everything that he has. She has gotten caught up in the talk of all the lawyers etc. The woman has the knife but if she isnt careful then all the shit she is putting him through is going to turn round and bite her on the arse, so she better be careful.. I think i've pretty muched summed it up.

whilst on the subject of lyrics................

is half of raised on radio about "self service" if you get my drift....

.....girl cant help it, she needs more.....

.....be good to your self, when no body else will

......you're the one I used to hold onto, your the one who used to wear my ring......

Sounds like something out of Dungeons & Dragons.

It means being caught up in the trap of fame, and corporate games. The wronge edge of the blade...................self destruction............if it is sharp........if it cuts........enjoy yourself. What might come back to get you. That is what I get from that. Seems the other person is using him to get where they want to climb.

Great video. Neal at his absolute best. Steve Smith was truly amazing on drums. This was never my favorite song for Perry on vocals, too high, but I love his energy on the song live.

I have the Houston 81 concert. But, to me, I always wanted to have a copy of their concert with People and Places, I'm Cryin' with Rolie. I love Departure. Precious Time, to me, is one of their best songs.

nah. That song is probably the most political, if you will, song they ever did. It's clearly about race and that we are one - the human race.

Herbie said that show- from 80, was their peak.
