But! we all know he won't return, unless "you know who" comes back... lol.

Yep, akin to a YUGO.

as he has stated many times over and that might not get him back

Their time with Journey is done, and that seems to be the way things are meant to be.
Funny thing is, I don't have a comparison to draw on for preference (of "with Journey or without), having only seen them (live) without Journey, with the exception of Jeff.
p.s. Fleischman? Are ya kiddin' me? and Jackson? ONLY if he brings back the pink bass and f*@ked up outfits.
+1 And got one of those funky 80's haircuts, had his stomach bypass reversed and gained back about 100 lbs.![]()

Thought I would see how it looks when quoted properly.
Ah pass! That ruined Journey for me!! He had no business in that band dressesd like a fruit loop!weatherman90 wrote:Jackson. That would be HUGE publicity for the band.
Get him into his 1986 outfit and hair style, and it would generate even more buzz...

I really miss Steve Smith.. He's one of my favorite drummers, along with Simon Phillips.
The current guy's drums sound like crap to me, as he loves to play like a modern 12 year old, all popish sounding and with little beat clarity..

I preface this with the admission that I've never even touched a bass guitar, but Dan pointed out that Ross was involved in all of the complicated progressive tracks from the pre-Perry days, which suggests some measure of talent.
Of course, Randy was good enough to get his own bass solo during ROR, if I remember from a video or two. And it would be excellent publicity for the band.
Lastly, Smith vs. Deen? I'm going to have to go with Deen. Smith's drumming never impressed me until Trial By Fire. It seemed like he was held completely in check by either Schon or Perry or both. Deen's a serious monster whose drumming on Revelation is just as good as Smith's in TBF.
Consider Deen's take on "Chain Reaction" compared to Steve Smith's.
IMHO, Deen wins by a decent amount.
