OT: USA Turns Control Over to Iraq Today - WTF?

Postby Voyager » Mon Jun 29, 2009 8:27 pm

The headlines in the USA for the past few weeks have been all about Iran, Farrah Fawcett, and Michael Jackson. But guess what Iraq's headlines have been?

USA Control Ends Today

The biggest day since the Iraq War started in 2003, and yet none of the USA media has even mentioned it.

This is big news. Why did the media miss it?

I've not heard about that either. But if it's true, I really hope that the Iraqi's can single handedly remain in complete control of their own country for a change.

Maybe Joe Jackson, Jessie Jackson, & Al Sharpton will do a Michael Jackson tribute tour stop in Bagdad.
That'll get Iraq back in the news.

I've heard it mentioned on the radio periodically throughout the day.
Haven't turned on cable news, but they're mostly crap anyhow.

Why not turn it back over to them? It's their country. Bush lied and thousands died, but as it turns out them terrists responsible for 9/11 were not there, nor were the weapons of mass destruction, which were the crux of why we the American people were sold on this war to begin with. Now let's see the Bushies tried as the war criminals they are.

We should have never taken it away from them to begin with. I just find it strange that this has not been in the headlines over the past few weeks.... the USA is basically saying "We are done with the occupation of Iraq. We are no longer in military control of the country. The war is over, and we've turned the country back over to its own government." Is that not a big deal after six years of war and occupation???

They can't make a big deal about it, that would just give more propaganda to the other side, saying " See, look what we did, we drove the infidels from the land, Allah is good".

You don't know that to be true. Keep in mind we had to give the UN their chance before we moved in. I know a government contractor (hired soldier) and I asked him about this. His response is the weapons were definately there. Believe what you wish about Bush.

We haven't "completely" pulled out or given "complete" control
back to the Iraq's... yet.
We've only turned over control to some smaller towns and a majority
of Bahgdad. We'll still have troops on the ground
and in the air for awhile...
But it's a good start.

Sad thing is, even though I should be glad I don't
have to go back there, now I am slated to be in
Afghanistan next summer and that place is
a stinking pile compared to the facilities we've
built up in Iraq :x
Welcome to Terminus... You hungry?

I am not going to involve myself in politics here on this forum, but there is plenty of evidence being compiled daily on our ex traitor-in chief and his criminal cabal. There will be a trial and there will be convictions. This was the crime of the century and you will see feet held to the fire. Trust me and have a great day.

You don't have evidence. You have an opinion. I don't know you but I am quite sure you weren't involved in any cabinet meetings and you weren't briefed by the CIA. Get my point?

Not sure why you're citing the UN Inspectors to make the case for war.
You do realize the inspectors found zilch and Bush pulled them out early, right?
Bush's own treasury secretary, Paul O'Neill, said they were gunning for Iraq from Day ONE.
He's not alone.
Most recently Bush family friend, Mickey Herskowitz, has said the same thing.
And it goes on and on...

Someone might want to clue in President Bush about that...

Bush was the official "don't give a shit" cowboy President, what purpose would pacifying the media serve - especially at the tail-end of his term?
From Nixon to Palin, the GOP only plays offense against the "liberal media".
The same liberal media, which, incidentally, was in the hip pocket of both Bush I and II in the run-up to the Gulf War and Iraqi Freedom.

Saint John wrote:They were there.

Right.
You mean to say that the same administration that used ANYTHING to make the case for war, including false yellowcake claims, bogus satellite photos of mobile weapons labs, crap intel from a source named Cueball, is now sitting on-top of the biggest smoking gun in the world?
You see any Democrats out there still defending LBJ and the Gulf of Tonkin?
Sometimes you need to wake up and smell the false flag bullshit.

If I'm not mistaking, isn't it just Baghdad that is being turned over to Iraqi forces and not the entire country?
