Steve is close to 45 I think in this video? I found it interesting because clearly he's having a hard time on some of the notes in this one. Especially at the 2:32 mark, where you can see it in his eyes "this note's going to be a little tough!". He's also sometimes just singing the notes rather than the word. The tempo is a little fast, it's tuned down to what I think the band plays it now? In all fairness, it appears to be the last song of the set. I'm a huge MFSP fan, but to think this man could come close to even this performance at near 60 years old, just might be too much to ask for.

Was watching this video a few days ago. Little mistake by keyboard player at the start.

No Perry probably cant do this live now... but he wont be touring anyway. If he does do an album then that will be it, no tour.

IMO - If he sounds like this, than I am happy.....but for me I would rather see him that the others...so I give him some room on his voice, I don't expect 81 now....

Well then he sounds pretty good to me....I am not sure where in the concert this was.....but the VOICE is there.

Yeah Perry was nearly always fantastic. But I've heard worse Perry performances than the great performances that AP has been putting on over the last two months.

Well with all of the cheering that is going on here as of late.....I say to you I second the motion....I don't expect anything and would just like to see the emotion and presence that he brings to the songs and the stage....ONE TIME!!! He needs to know that most of his true fans would not be comparing him to anything and just glad to see him on the stage!

That video that was first posted here does show a slight stumble on that high note at 2:32, but the poster failed to recognize that from 4:18 to the end he hit every high note (at the end of his concert)!

The man has pipes even at 45 and I have no doubt that his pipes are still Golden at 60.

For one, he's not going to tour. I don't see it. Hopefully, we'll get that album out of him and his perfectionist self won't derail it.

Hardcore Perry lovers will not care what he sings, b/c it will be his first tour in 15 years and will be exciting, no matter the change in his voice, no matter the song choices. Most here know all his music solo anyway. But that audience will be made up of a whole lot of of casual fans, who heard he is back touring, most not really knowing his solo work much except hits, and remembering him back in the day of their youth with Journey. And they will be expecting a lot of the old Journey hits, which he probably can't do now, at least not a lot of them. And many of those fans would be judging him, comparing him to his early days singing those songs if he's not up to par. That would be a lot of pressure for him if his voice can't hold up to any early Journey songs, the hits, re performing on tour. So I don't see a tour happening anyway, unless he really did have an operation and his voice is strong enough to hold up.

Re a new album, he will sound great on there, singing in his voice range and doing what he does best, singing soufully and soaring with emotion.

When Vladar posted a one-minute video clip and said turn down the sound and that Arnel was a bad frontman, you came on there not saying cheating and saying it was unfair, but telling him basically not to even bother giving his viewpoint on the board unless it's what we want to hear. Now this poster is "cheating, expected from some here" for posting a whole clip and having an opinion? You can't have it both ways. Why didn't you call out Vladin on that one minute/no sound clip trying to use that as his basis for Arnel being a lousy frontman?

As for me, I don't go by this whole song clip on Perry's ability, just like I don't go by a one-minute/no sound clip on someone's frontman ability. At least I'm consistent.

Was it only performed in the US?

After the Trial By Fire album he dropped off the radar in the UK.

I know he cancelled the last few dates of the tour because of something his throat. There is a video on youtube of one of the last FLOSM shows and his voice sounds show (i think it was Only The Young, someone posted it ages ago. And then he got back with Journey so never finished the tour.

I didn't get to see Journey when they toured here with SP in the late 70's and I am so annoyed about that because he never came to the UK again with the band.
But if I find out that he came over here in the 90's and I missed him again, I will be really upset.

I was too young to be allowed to see Journey when they toured here with SP in the late 70's and I am so annoyed about that because he never came to the UK again with the band.

I believe he canceled due to Bronchitis, which is much worse for a singer than a bum throat

I know he cancelled the last few dates of the tour because of something his throat. There is a video on youtube of one of the last FLOSM shows and his voice sounds show (i think it was Only The Young, someone posted it ages ago. And then he got back with Journey so never finished the tour.

I was too young to be allowed to see Journey when they toured here with SP in the late 70's and I am so annoyed about that because he never came to the UK again with the band.
But if I find out that he came over here in the 90's and I missed him again, I will be really upset.

I believe he canceled due to Bronchitis.

That is correct, Lora has posted here that she and Cyndy had flown in for a show and he had cancelled because he was ill.

I'm pretty sure that Perry never ventured here in the 90s.

I thought I was right about him cancelling and not bringing the tour to the UK.
