Alright,

I showed Alex the design that my buddy helped me do for our album, but he thinks it should be different. He thinks the heart should look like an anatomical heart, and thinks that the heart we currently have looks too "boy-bandish". He suggested me doing a poll to see which you think would suit our project best.

I'm ALWAYS open for suggestions, and I told him that he needs to like it just as much as me. Just let us know (honestly please) which you think would look better.

If we DO go with an anatomical heart, I could have it look like it's made of stone or something...I'm also up to your suggestions. Just please be serious and help us. Thanks!!!

Go ahead and send that design over to the J-Boyz Management. No sense in letting it go to waste.

Hey man, I chose Anatomical. If it were made of stone like you suggested, that would look awesome (maybe even a maze or something like that engraved into the heart) just a thought, or if it were a heart, perhaps make it look like it's been sitting in the snow, covered in ice or something like that. Honestly though when I see a picture of a heart of an album, being either a Starship album or whatever, I think of the band called "Heart". But! honestly I don't think you will go wrong either way Jim.

I'm not crazy about the idea of an anatomical heart. I just don't know how that would look good on an album cover. But I might change my mind if I saw an artists perception of it. That's a tough one G.I. Jimbo.

If you don't mind, I might work on that tiff image here and there and see if I can nudge it into something a little different.

Hell yeah man...have at it! I really appreciate the feedback from everyone so far, but I want to wait and get as many responses as possible before making any decision. If we go with the anatomical one, I'd definitely try to make it look like stone with ice around the edges. I still like the "out in space" look for the background, and I really like the "lense flare" look that he did.

Again, I'm up for ANY suggestions (that are realistic of course), so lay them on me!

What's your target audience: Men or Women? Yeah, yeah....I know....BOTH! Still, which gender do you believe will be MOST interested in your music? If your music is mostly "guy" music, then go with the anatomical. If you're music is mostly "girl" music (you know what I mean) then go with the other heart.

But then again, what do I know? Don't listen to me, Jim. I've often scratched my head wondering WHY Journey chose a scarab. I mean, let's face it..... in their infancy, Journey's music was filled with a lot of "Lovin', Touchin' Squeezin" sappy lyrics & their stage appearances were filled with a lot of (ahem) skin tight spandex pants & so the band's female fans far outweighed their male fans. Yet, Journey chose to go with a scarab for their logo as opposed to a butterfly or a dove or some other feminine-friendly image. Women hate bugs. Who woulda thunk a scarab would have been the way to go??????? I guess the presence of Perry in those painted on pants or Schon & Rolie with their Vlasic pickles could turn any creepy insect into a cute lil' buggie-boo.

Sorry Jim, I'm not liking the anatomical stone heart idea. 1. An anatomical heart is ugly. 2. It's been done already by a group called The Krimson. 3. It would work better if the title were Stone Heart or Stone Cold Heart.




I found this heart, and I really liked it. I think it has a really 80's Journey vibe to it, but it still has that cold look to it. Just a thought. You could consider doing a graphic like this one.

Thanks for the input! I really like that heart design, but I don't think it screams "Cold Heart". Very cool design though! I guess we'll keep waiting to see what the consensus is...

I quite like the idea of an 'ice sculpture' of an anatomically correct heart.

I quite like the hot how it is, it's very AOR.

But the heart style that peartree found looks great also.. and an ice sculpture sounds good also.

I like Ari's idea re ice sculpture and I really like Voyager's photo. I actually lreally ike the original you have posted, but the heart is too perfect, maybe more at an angle or something like that with the edges a little blurred would be better.

IMO art is subjective. Personally, I think whatever you pick is fine with me, I like all kinds of stuff, really.

What I will say now about the original is that there are two many lense flares. It takes the attention away from the heart, which I think should be the focal point.

Hey everyone, thanks for the responses so far! You've also posted some very cool images, and Mike...I really like that design. It's very cool. The trouble with using someone else's artwork, is that they can sue you for improper use. They'd probably want a nice check for us to get permission...

I'm really enjoying seeing all of the ideas, and I hope you keep em coming!
