OT-Hanging out with Ric Flair

Postby YoungJRNY » Sat Jul 04, 2009 9:59 am

I'm in Myrtle Beach, and the hotel I'm staying at, Ric Flair stays at. He's at the pool every day, and we hung out with him. Bought him a drink and calls us "The Pittsburgers." He's a Pens fan. Nice guy. He's looking good for his comeback. Will post pics later.

Funny.. Flair said he was never going to wrestle again... and now it looks like he is going to. Perry said he is going to sing again ... and... well...

Tell Ric Flair to take a dip in the "pride pool" and fucking retire. It's silly to think that a 60 year old man could beat up anyone...let alone some of the younger/much bigger guys in wrestling (even if that shit is fake). He needs about a C cup bra and a new set of knees. He's been embarrassing himself and that industry for the better part of 10 years. He had a great 25 year run in a fake entertainment industry and it's time to go bye bye. Hang it up, dude. And I respect the hell out of what those guys do. It's a tough and dangerous business, and there are some incredible athletes that have come and gone, but Flair's time is up and has been for some time. Be a manager or an announcer, but quit the farce of making us try to even imagine that you could kick anyone's ass.

I haven't watched wrestling since Brett "The Hitman" Hart retired. Classy dude and does so much for charities. His book (below) was quite an interesting read on growing up (here) in the wrestling world, and his stories about other wrestlers that trained in the Hart dungeon.

He is clearly back on the roids, and actually looks tight and built. His back is HUGE and his arms are looking big as well. Looks like the man can't walk, though. He shuffles his feet and kind of doesn't move his upper body, but a legend nonetheless, and he is really friendly with the fans around here.

Some dude I met down here said he met Flair in his prime, and was at a bar. Someone came up to him and gave a Flair "WOOOO" in his face. Flair picked him up by his throat and slammed him on he side of the pool table. They said he doesn't like when people "WOO" at him because he takes it as making fun. So, I'm going to try and not give him one.

I'm going to ask him if he can give me one of his Flair Chops. He'll probably break bones, but I want one. He leaves Tuesday.

Oh that's right, that was you. I disagree totally, but it's all good. I'm probably biased, the Hart clan grew up here so I saw what some of them were like outside of the ring. Heck, Bruce and Keith were even substitute teachers at our school at one point. There is a lot of crap that went down between Harts and McMahon. You should read his book, ya might be surprised at some of the stuff in there about some of the wrestlers back in the day. :o

I was a huge WCW fan, and even a BIGGER Sting fan. Loved Sting when I was little. I painted my face and everything. He's still wrestling in TNA, and plans to retire soon. That'll be a sad day for me, haha. But about the Hitman, I remember Goldberg ended his career when he gave a sharp kick to the head, causing trauma. A suckass way to go out.

If you were a WCW fan, the best wrestling book to read is "The Death of WCW." Great read with some very interesting facts at how it went under behind the scenes.

Yeah I've read through it a few times in the shops, seems good. The Monday Night Wars DVD was an excellent one for an insight into both companies.

Chris Jerichos book is stellar! Cant wait for the next one.
New Mick Foley one is out this year also (though he sounded like an ass in the last)

I was a WCW fan, all the way back to Ted Turner owning the show. I'll check out that book!

Hey this is no fooling and no photoshopping. Flair is a Gator fan. His daughter went there back in the 90's and he always attends the games. I remember the time his pants were ripped off in a match and he was wearing silk Gator boxer shorts. Here is a pic with spurrier when the ole ball coach was still at Florida:

really good book.he suffered a lot of tragic stuff there in a short period such as owen dying, the stroke, the montreal screw job,his father passing away, etc. they say stu hart used to get guys in the dungeon and all you would hear were screams.the ones that came kept coming back were the ones he knew had potential to wrestle.also never knew one of the british bulldogs was his brother in law.
