What a sad day for the world of boxing! His bouts with Mickey Ward are the stuff of legend. Not a good time to be a celebrity lately...

Ive never undestood boxing. You get two guys, usually with very limited education, asking their preferred diety's help in beating the other person into a subconcious state, in most cases causing some type of longterm damage to the brain.

It baffles me.

All that aside, he is the second boxer to pass these last few weeks. I don't know how famous Alexis Argüello was but he appears to have done himself in.

It seems the De La Hoya Fairy tale careers are in the minority when it comes to this sport.

Excellent point GB. While I enjoy a good boxing match, its hard to imagine why it was dubbed "The Sweet Science".
