TDTWT...is probably the best lyrical song Journey have ever written, a song Perry would have knocked out of the park big time if they'd have saved it for his return. Probably one to rival WYLAW and send it packing. Arnel does justice to it totally but wouldn't it have been THE SONG for HIM to belt out if he returned...songs of this stature only come around every now and then, congrats to Journey for givin' it to us...it's with me now for years to come just like Faithfully and that other fuckin' track I've heard so many times I've forgot.

Anyone got a link to WTF...I've lost it...B?

Turn Down The World Tonight is one of the best songs by Journey. Jonathan Cain, beauiful lyrics and melody. Love the piano, love the parts in the background with Neal on guitar and I love Arnel's tone on this song. From the moment of the piano intro in the song I was hooked.

I think that has been the one constant appraisal from all Journey fans, whether they be Pinheads, loons, wigglers or soto jerks. TDTWT is a great song that sadly has been under promoted.

So true. What I also love about the song is it harkens back to the classic Journey sound to me. That's actually what I liked about Revelation. It had a more classic Journey sound overall to it than previous albums.

Nice voice. I enjoyed that. Love the song also. Needs to be put in the real setlist, permanently.

I think the opposite for me.
I like it because it really promotes Pineda. When you hear that voice, the last thing you think of is Steve Perry. It's one of those tunes that when played on the radio, people will have no idea who is singing it. I think it sounds more like Survivor than anything Journey has done.

I agree with Gun. The first time I listened to this song, I instantly connected with it. First and foremost this was the song that jumped out at me. Arnel's vocals are clearly punctuated and him alone puts a nice finishing touch that went along with a strong supporting cast.

I listen to it everyday. It's a very beautiful song and it's a shame that it's not in the setlist.

I hope they will surprise us soon. I also agree with Gunbby that this song promotes Arnel, very very well.

Arnel needs to take a stance of dominance and say, hey...I'm singin this gig and I'll damn well sing what I please. Now get me more PA speakers up in the rafters and fuckyou, I don't care your ears, Neal! :P

Seriously, After Neal had to run damage control because of that Rolling Stone interview Snafu, where even Lori Carpenter ended up writing a letter to the editor, Arnel ain't saying nuthin'.

But, when Perry was with the band, he pretty much ran the show. There's one additional major difference for people who say Arnel is trying to be like Perry.

Huh? Where did that ever come up? Sounding like him is one thing but no one will ever think of Arnel as having a leadership position in the band. Perry, and for that matter Cain are on such a different level musically that they both could sit down and create an album from scratch. Lyrics, melody, music, production and promotion. I don't think anyone here thinks of Arnel emulating Perry in regards to anything beyond his vocal ability.

No, you don't understand I was simply contrasting. Neal has said that he couldn't understand why SP never felt like he was part of the band when he was pretty much doing it his way. I don't recall the exact way it was said, but along those lines.
