before some get carried away this is just a dream or scenario to have fun with.

Reunion:What Would Setlist Be IF Perry Rejoined In 2010.....

with no new music coming and a reunion similar to what the police or van halen did recently what would a setlist look like in 2010 if perry did rejoin.also take into consideration how they would pace certain things so his voice didn't take on too much.i say they play anything between 1978 infinity all the way through 1996 trial by fire.

my setlist would be.....

any way you want it opening song
don't stop believen'
lights
lovin' touchin' squeezin'
seperate ways
chain reaction
girl can't help it
escape
line of fire
one more
stone in love
who's crying now
open arms
faithfully
edge of the blade
wheel in the sky
be good to yourself
why can't this night go on forever
still they ride

First!!

Seriously, the circumstances needing to be in place to make this happen require a leap of faith that I just have no desire to take.

OMG, I just about spit coke all over my keyboard. Not only was that list true to form, but it's now shaping up just that way.

That list HAS to be the best post ever on this board.

And..... here's thread #4 on Perry in two days. I can't even fathom the number of threads when/if we get a release date for this CD.

The setlist with Perry and Journey in 2010... with Perrys past form the only thing I could think of is ..

a kick in the teeth.

First of all what do you mean no new music? He is working on new music. Next a setlist? I am not trying to be an a** here but, whatever the hell he wants to sing let him sing, my opinion. Although if I had to choose, this is what I would think:
Oh Sherrie
Trial By Fire
Castles Burning
Lights
Don't Stop Believing
Keep On Running
WYLAW
Walks Like A lady
Lovin Touchin Squeezin
Only The Young
Be Good To Yourself
Faithfully

Actually seeing that we never had a Journey TBF tour, we could start it out from there. How's that?

Somebody has to say it. This is very far fetched and stupid idea. :P

I can just see it:

Ross: We got the magic back....again
Neal: I wanted a singer with a ten....err, never mind. I wanted a singer who could restore us to the legacy sound...again
Friga: Just knowing Steve Perry makes me a better guy...again

First of all, with SMFP's age and what i call (the hardest songbook known to man-vocal-wise) i would bet they write and record a new album with lower tenor songs diced with a touch of baritone backing in lead and corrus to sustain the live shows. The new CD would be played probably throughout the shows and they would pick the old Journey songs he could muster, which i'm sure he could but not night after night and much need vocal rest in between. Thats how the new CD would save them and his voice as well. They could do it, easily, his voice now would bring a new Journey sound and a new backing as well as the old.

steve I just love it, too funny, we all know a reunion would never happen, but if it is the end of them, it would be a great idea. But we know that Perry himself said that he would never go back, but never say never!

When you love A woman
Only the young

I'm not saying it is a better catalog, but I would have to put the RUSH catalog as the toughest catalog....vocal-wise. Ged was hitting some serious chalkboard in the 70s....

Just saying....

journey361, now that we can all agree on, but don't be surprised, Mr P just might surprise us all. You never know.

Thats true, but there were alot of singers who's vocals were much higher and used a far more of a tenor type approach. But i guess i should have stated the word (tools) as in Perry Tools. He used them in ballads, rock, R&B. His type of game was a sort of medium to straight forward vocal approach that wasn't screaming or yelling to get to vabratto. His upper register was always controlling and to this day, untouchable. Thats how he is or was i should say, and thats why he's a legend with music and in general a flat out vocal masterpiece in every since.

LOL - I was just joking. The "I spewed my drink on my keyboard" phrase is a little wornout, so I thought I would try something new.
