Zero info anywhere about this concert. Was it great, was it not, or did the train go astray?
Input....need more input!

I have a friend that was at this show. She told me she was going to give me a concert call. Nada. Zip. Zero. I got nothing. This show was with Heart, so I'm sure it was amazing. I wish I could have been there also.

A very good friend of mine. I've known her for 20+ years. Believe it or not, I'm the reason she's there. I got her back into Journey. She's a big fan again. I love that.

I saw Scandal play a 30 minute set before Journey's official opening act, Greg Kihn came on stage in 1982. Nobody really knew who Patty Smyth was but that sure changed a year later.

The first time I heard that song, it chilled me to the bone. Every hair was standing up. At that moment in time I had to stop dead in my tracks and rewrite where my life was going. It was a huge awakening for me.

My blog has the set list, the Journey men rocked the house tonight in Reno. Our fourth Revelation tour show, after Shoreline in 2008 and Raley Field in May and Paso Robles this week, we had second row seats right in front of Jonathan's mic stand. Like in Paso, the boys tore through the fist half of the set, following a great opener by Heart, and set the place on fire. They finally took a deep breath before Lights and a few other ballads.
This set list is missing Escape and After All These Years, but ah well, you cannot always get everything you want. Arnel sounds great, Deen sounded great on his two songs, Keep on Runnin and Mother Father.
The venue? Ah the venue in a word -- terrible. Everyone is funneled through only two openings at the rear of the arena to get in or out, and that is everyone. Paso Robles had a shortage of beverage stands and lots of bathroom facilities, Reno is the opposite, lots of beer and few bathrooms. Security was tight up front, but lacking in organization, halfway through they decided no more flash photos so I got yelled at for doing what was seemingly OK moments earlier, while cameras flashed in the rows behind me without restriction.
But that didn't ruin our experience.

The show was just amazing! My hometown crowd was just so alive from the start of "Separate Ways" to the end of " Lovin', Touchin', Sqeezin'". But of course two songs stole the night. When the piano professor and the ballin' bassist played the first verse of the song "Don't Stop Believin'" the crowd just blew up and sang with Arnel like there was no tomorrow. Arnel sang the song with so much passion and the fans were singing with that same exact emotion. Then the song after that just got the whole crowd pumped again. "Any Way You Want It" just got us all singing to the top of our lungs. The venue I thought was the perfect size. Even if you were at the end of the room you good still see Arnel's mouth move and the jumbo-trons picture quality was crystal clear. Overall the concert was just so great I give it 5 stars. I just thought two songs were missing and they were both power ballads. "After All These Years", and "When You Love a Women" should have been added. Only a minor problem though so 5 stars still.

JOURNEY FOREVER!!!!!

Looks like After All These Years has been dropped from quite a few shows. Now dump Open Arms and all will be right with the world.

I got to see them perform WYLAW last year. Not too sure how it will sound detuned as the dynamic of the piano and violins play a big part in the song. I don't know how you flatten the violins since they're on tape. Maybe that's the problem.

Friga doesn't play a string pad live on WYLAW?

I'm pretty sure Jonathan does. If they did play WYLAW, I don't think it would need to be played in a lower key, it's already a low key song as it was on the TBF album..

Well, they better add it back to the setlist b/f they get down here. I really want to see that song live.

I think if they play one tuned down, they do them all that way. I'm not sure, but I think it takes some effort and time to tune the instruments down or up.

So do I, Jana! I got the short end of the stick last year. I went to their show in Council Bluffs, IA. Don't get me wrong, it was an awesome show. Incredible 20 song set, but a few weeks later, they were playing 'La Do Da', 'Feelin' That Way', 'When You Love a Woman' and 'Anytime'.

I love Separate Ways as the opening song. What a way to set the tone of the concert and energy. And I would think I would get tired of seeing videos of Arnel singing that song, but Arnel flat-out brings that song every single time. He blows that song right out of the water with his delivery. :D

)O god there goes Friga cackling on that mouth harp again, time to take a piss, and get a beer. He sounds like Barney Fife on the episode where he plays the harmonica to keep the goat from exploding

I got the scoop this morning from two friends that were front and center with Heart Fan Club tickets last night. Killer show, awesome performance by AP who sang to them quite a few times during the show, and they also went to the after party. One of them was the first to buy one of Lori Carpenter's new Journey pendants which were available for the first time last night, and Neal was amazed she got one so fast.

They also gave me a concert call during Heart while I was standing in line for the Rick Springfield after-show meet, and Ann sounded awesome as always! We were waging the rock war on two fronts last night. :)

A great ALD audience recording came out of the Reno Events Center when Journey and Def Leppard played there in 2006. I wouldn't mind seeing another one pop up. 8)
