Just bring a light waterproof windbreaker, some comfortable trekking shoes and foot spray.

I have been to Chankanaab national park several times. It's good for snorkeling, but don't look for the most beautiful beaches or anything in Cozumel. I haven't been to the park since the bad hurricane a couple of years ago though. It's an interesting place to visit even if you don't snorkel.
Then you can easily take a ferry to the mainland and take a bus to some if the myan ruins. Tulum is beautiful! A long bus drive though. And then I hear that Xcaret is a lot of fun and pretty, but I have yet to do that. Have fun!

Great snorkeling. There is a fun snorkeling/party boat excursion.
Carlos and Charlies is a place you shouldn't miss. Oh baby.
I sat in there having a few drinks and enjoying the atmosphere while my wife shopped. She came in when she was done, I bought her a shot. A very hot waitress blew a whistle, helped her slam down the shot and squeezed her boobs. While I was amused, wifey wasn't. That was the end of my Carlos and Charlies visit. Great place though. I'd go again.
They challenge themselves to get people on cruises so drunk they miss getting back on the ship in time.

THAT is why I threatened my husband with his life if he bought me a shot

They do however make the best margarita in the world there, though one yard was for sure my max! I believe it's kinda like grain alcohol. You can't taste it but it hits you fast. I believe they make the tequila there and it's not bottled and sold it's such a high proof. It's actually fun just to people watch there. Watching their faces as they leave the dark bar and the sun hits their drunken eyes is pretty amusing! Or even watching them try to walk upright

I was there in 1996. Playa Del Carmen is the little city where you catch the Ferry over to Cozumel.
One VERY cool place right there is PLAYACAR, a housing resort with a golf course. If you enter Playacar
from the entrance right next to the boat ramp leading to the ferry, on your right (just before the golf course)
is a BIRD Sanctuary. It's a walking tour and the birds in the Sanctuary are free roaming and live there
by choice, no cage. All kinds of colorful birds. It was amazing because the birds are just sitting there along the walkway.
Some of them are friendly enough to pet.
Tulum (the ruins) south of Playa Del Carmen are worth seeing.
A place pronouced Shell Ha has amazing snokling and I really like Akumal, along the route from Tulum to Cancun.
My favorite place of all was Isla Mujeras, the small island off of Cancun. An amazing Sea Turtle breeding farm, and you can swim with the dolphins near the same area.
Snorkle under the dock and see salt water fish like you have never seen. Bring lots of bread to feed them.
Feeding bread at the end of the dock will bring thousands (I'm not kidding), of fish from the depths of the ocean.
Have fun. It's hot as hell, so I recommend NOT going inland, stay right near the beaches.

Bring your sunscreen ....I'm currently in Aruba and I'm burning like I'm in fucking hell and Satan's got me on his hit list. It might not be too warm in the states these days....but the Caribbean is fucking burning!!!!

It was 105 in Southern Oregon yesterday, and today will be 107, two degrees over the all time RECORD.
