I'm sure many have seen this because it's the latest Youtube mega hit but posting it for those who haven't seen it yet....

This is such a hit they had the couple on Good Morning America last week talking about it. There are tons of ways people have been entering the reception but this is a different approach to walking down the aisle. Now tons of people will probably start taking off this idea but kudos to this couple for their originality. I love this! Fun, cute, loving, unique, imaginative......they made their wedding their own and had fun with it..... very entertaining.

Would you do something like this....have no problem with it, think it's great or do you think it shouldn't be done in a church...that's its disrespectful like some are saying and that things should be kept to how they are traditionally done...keep the sanctity of the ceremony and the fun to the reception? Discuss.

I think they were having fun, and if you can't do that in life, you might as well give it up. I can't see how god, at least the one I was taught about, would frown on fun and celebration of love. Obviously no harm was meant, so I don't see a problem. Tradition tells us that there is a certain way to behave at church - I say b.s. Traditions are not rules and, I believe, are meant to be shared and improved on.

Just because their ceremony was different from what is "usually" or "traditionally" done, does not take from the sanctity or meaning behind it. They just expressed it in their own way. My ceremony was, I guess what many would consider 'non-traditional'... oh wait - bad example - turns out I was the only one paying attention during it... ... but still, my intent was there.

Bottom line, I think they had fun, their guests had fun, so what could be so wrong in that?

I totally agree. I think it's awesome and I don't understand why anyone would have a problem with it.

I don't understand why suddenly this wedding entrance gained so much popularity because people have been dancing, prancing, waltzing, and having a wonderful time as they "walked" down the aisle. They do looked like they had fun! I think I'd love to dance down the aisle to some great music with all my bridemaids and groomsmen and my sweet groom doing our dance that we do and even have the audience get involved and we would all be having the best time. It's a celebration and I think you should be allowed to frolic and dance as you have never danced before as long as you leave on all of your clothes and do not add a stripper pole!

So your saying that if a stripper wants to dance at their wedding they should have their ceremony at the strip club? Dance all you want to but no nudity in a church?

I like the guy that does the hand stand the best. For a big guy he's a good dancer...best one in the bunch.

I would be ok with it in rehersal but i dont think i would go for it for the actual wedding. Seems alittle disrespectful to me. But Im an old man so what do I know.

Disrespectful to who? Surely not the groom and the bride to each other...it was their idea.....their friends and family sure looked like they enjoyed it too. A wedding is a celebration of 2 peoples love for each other so it should be celebrated in whatever way they want to convey their emotions, imo. I also don't see it as being disrespectful to the church...or to God.

Isn't there something that says..." be joyful....rejoice in the presence of the Lord"...maybe that's not verbatim but I know it says that somewhere in the bible...it also says something about making joyful noises....and it does speak of dancing in celebration in the bible too....so since the ceremony was conducted in a christian church I don't see where their singing and dancing is in any way disrespectful of the church or to God in any way...I think they followed their faith as they were taught to do...celebrate, and make a joyful noise unto the Lord.
Maybe it's a bit more lively then you're used to....more lively then singing the hymns....but it's a celebration of love...and I think from all the teachings I've read that God digs a good celebration of song and dance.

Have you ever been to a evangelical service in the south or elsewhere...where the people talk in tongues and roll in the aisles? have you ever been to a black church where the people are rejoicing in song and dance and really getting into the spirit of it all? Is that being disrespectful to their faith or are they expressing their faith as they feel it....in the way that they believe is right for them to express it? How about Lincoln Brewster? Is he being disrespectful to the church when he sings and plays his guitar in it? Besides, the church is just a structure....yes a structure built for those of faith to worship God...but it's a place to congregate in that expression to celebrate life...whether baptisms of babies, celebrating birth...a place to celebrate beginnings, the love of 2 people coming together...and a place to celebrate the life of someone who has died...etc....so I think celebrating...rejoicing their union under the roof of a church..with song and by dancing.. is appropriate.

Good stuff, maybe not the best location. If the wedding was in a banquet hall, then no problem. I'm not a very religious person, but I don't think that a church is the best place for something like that.

I suppose every denomination has its own point of view on what is considered "disrespectful". I was raised a Baptist, and had no real knowledge of the Catholic religion. Several years ago during the Lenten season I was invited by a co-worker to a Friday evening fish-fry at her church. Great! I LOVE fish, especially fried. So we get there and the church is connected to its own elementary school, and the fish fry was being held in the cafeteria (which also substituted for the bingo hall ). As we stood in line for our fish they wheeled around a keg of beer, which to my shock and amazement many of the parishioners merrily imbibed. Being a Baptist, I was absolutely certain that if I so much as took one whiff of that alcohol in the building adjoining the house of the Lord, God would strike me dead on the spot. So, yeah, I guess it all depends.

not to that song, but hell yeah... talk about having FUN in life in one of the most important days in your life.

Have you ever been to a Catholic wedding reception held in the church? I have..a few...and the priest got drunker then anyone.. every time. They really dig those champagne fountains.
