I am tired of counting losses. I am going to count blessings instead if that is O.K.

1. I got divorced from a prick who cheated on me with everything that moved. He was often unkind and cruel. Thank you, year 2000~

2. I married the love of my life, my old college sweetheart............Comedyisnotpretty (aka.....Danno) I love you. Thank you for removing my pain and making me believe again! :D

3. My baby girl got married to the best son in law ever. They are doing well, and she is happy! :D

4. I went back to college and followed a dream of a lifetime. I discovered my "style" as far as art goes. I made some tremendous friends in college. :D

5. I found MR! And all the fun and wonderful folks here. Trust me guys, when I am feeling down this place is the right ticket!
6. Someone special gave me backstage passes and 10th row tickets to see Journey. I was the guest of Jonathan Cain! I got to meet him and found him to be as nice as he seems.

7. I will start the dream job of my life on Monday, and I have a huge classroom, my own office with a window looking into the classroom, a dark room, a kiln room and a storage room. That is so sweet! :D
8. I watched my son Graduate High School!

9. I am loved, have great friends, the hurt of 15 years has gone ( time with the ex), and I am in a great place.

I got a bunch of gallons of water stored in my basement along with a couple flashlights, several hundred batteries, a dozen blankets, a can opener & tons of non-perishables.
You know.... just in case that Y2K thing decides to hit us.

Okay, I know you were being serious. I was 21 at the start of this decade & working as a convenient store/gas station attendant during the graveyard shift in a rough ass part of town. I got robbed twice. In the first robbery the guy just took the money. The second robbery didn't go so smoothly. There were two of them that time. They took me into the back storage room, tied me up with an extension cord, & placed a gun against my temple. They asked me questions like if I had any next of kin & stuff like that. I ain't gonna lie --- I was scared !!! I never prayed so hard in my life. Then the one guy got right up in my face, looked me square in the eyes & said, "Bang" ----& then he laughed like it was funny. I never went back to that place. Not even as a customer.

So to answer your question, for me personally the decade's gotten better.

This decade sucked personally for three significant reasons. I will leave it at that.

Why can't it be 1988 forever? I miss that year so bad, and I lost my best friend that year. I would love to go back to that time and just stay there! No worries, no responsibilities, just hanging out with friends... and the ladies of course! Don't get me wrong... I love my wife and son, and wouldn't change a thing about them. I'm just saying... it's so different now. :(

To answer your question a little more seriously though... It has been a good decade for me. I've watched my son grow, I've gotten closer with my wife, I've had a blast with my music, I bought a house that I love, and just bought a boat for the first time this past spring.

I have a great job (although it has it's frustrations just like any other), and I feel like I've been really blessed. Now if this music starts moving a little further towards a record deal by the end of the year... it'll make me a seriously happy man! :D I hope I'm not coming off as bragging, because I'm not trying to be whatsoever, I'm just happy for everything that's been happening. I'm very grateful for everything that I have, because last decade was completely different. I was broke, unhappy, living in a shit-hole, and doing nothing with my music. It's amazing what a few years does to improve a situation.

I just hope it keeps going in this direction for me, and I hope you all get to experience some happiness too! Thanks for the thread... I hadn't really thought about the last ten years in a while.
