I would download them through http://www.mediaconverter.org/ or some other conversion site and save as an MP4, then use Itunes or Nero to burn them as audio to a CD.

Try this website. http://www.flv2mp3.com Convert the songs you want to mp3, then burn them to a CD.

You just copy and paste the YouTube url into the webpage and it does the rest.

The url is this...

I was thinking that the mp4 files might equate to better sound after conversion. For ease of use, your method is the best.

I just stumbled upon that site. I saw her post, and Googled for "flv to mp3" and that was the first in the list. Tried it and it worked well.

I'm on my way out the door, but I gotta ask this before I forget. Does that work with DVDs as well or is that just wishful thinking? Thanks, anybody.

Jason, it could, but not with the website I posted. There are many free utilities to download YouTube videos, just Google for them. They're usually saved to your computer as an flv (flash video) file, and then there is free software you can find on the web to convert them to a file such as "avi" or "mpg". That type of file can then be transcoded and burned to DVD using any program like Nero or Roxio. It's very doable.

Youtube shrinks everything down quite a bit so you use lose a lot of video quality but if that's not a big concern, you can save to mp4 as I suggested with the website http://www.mediaconverter.org/ and then use Nero or some other Video authoring program to burn to DVD. I have done it just to have a historical record of some of the rare videos I have seen on youtube.

Thanks Rick. Thanks Gunbot. I will try those things you've suggested later on. Right now I'm running late for work. I didn't really think you'd get back with me that quickly. Damn, you're good. Thanks again both of you.

Nice advice here bro. I'll look into that the next time I want to save one. I had several steps more in my process. This looks much easier.

Actually, it looks like Youtbe put the kabosh on that site.
Check out this one. It appears to work. It's a little slower but you have more available formats to convert to (mpeg, mp4, mp3,avi, mov, ogg etc).

I use the Firefox addon to download the flv, then convert it. They haven't put the kabosh on that yet.

This new one I listed allows for cellphone conversion video also and lets you decide between video or audio conversion.

You're welcome  - been using this for about a year, nice to not have to flip back and forth between programs. Even the DVD burner's not too bad.

I tried the site you recommended, Rick, but it wouldn't play the song on the media player. It said the input media format is invalid. What should I do?

Hey, it takes alot of stamina to do what I do & I don't get to have an "off" night. I gotta WOW the crowd with my showmanship. I gotta smile & pour on the charm. Plus, it takes a lot for me just to even get ready to go to work. All you gotta do is shit, shower & shave & you're off to play your gig. There's a lot of body maintenance that goes into what I do. People ain't paying to see no outta control hairy dude. I gotta "mow the lawn," give myself a manicure & a pedicure --- all that girly stuff.

But in the end I'm worth it. 8)
