I feel sorry for the doctor. He was only doing what Michael wanted him to do.

If I went out, bought a gun, came back, gave it to you and said 'shoot me', should you really be charged with murder?

Yes, and breaching his professional standards he swore to uphold and numerous laws.

Sorry but this is patently absurd logic...

Wrong. A doctor is held to a higher standard. This was a doctor who abused his privilege as a healer, needed money to support his lifestyle, and sold out to be a junkie's personal pharmacy. He should pay for it.

I don't get your analogy anyway. Yes, I should be charged with murder if I shoot you no matter who buys the gun.

Awe Fuck, there goes the neighborhood. There's going to be a ton of fucking molester apologists that will fucking cry outrage over this.

I really could have used a bile-free week.

So, if his death has been ruled a homicide, why has there been nobody arrested yet?
The way I see it is that he's been prescribed so many drugs by so many doctors that it's going to be very tough to hold one person accountable. They may need to arrest all of his doctors or none of them. So, do you think anyone will be charged and whom? My guess will be that it's the last doc with him because someone has to take the fall.

MJ Tribute Show is scheduled:

"According to reports, Jermaine and Katherine Jackson have asked Weisner to produce Michael Jackson: The Tribute in Vienna Austria later next month, on September 26th."

Can anyone say 'We Are the World Reunion'? 8)

Have to agree -- doctors have a huge responsibility, and shouldn't be up for sale like so many seem to these days. That any doctor would regularly administer Propofol as a home sleep aid shows a complete lack of judgment or ethics and is the height of corruption. He should be charged with at least involuntary manslaughter if not murder.

I used to have a lot more respect for doctors until I had my own issues with one who kept feeding a family member's addiction for YEARS past the point that they were hurting themselves on a regular basis. Unusually accident prone, but also faking injuries and other symptoms to get painkillers, Xanax, whatever. Everything he prescribed, even down to cough syrup with codeine, was addictive or was being abused. He blew off repeated phone calls and letters from family trying to address the problem, but finally talked with us and agreed to stop prescribing those meds. We found out months later after they'd hurt themselves again that he never quit prescribing those meds -- they were just going to a different pharmacy to fill them, and we had no choice but to turn his sorry ass into the state medical board to protect our family member. That stopped that crap right away, and he has that on his record now.

The medical professional has changed, and medical schools today are heavily influenced by the pharmaceutical industry. Doctors don't seem to learn how to heal people anymore -- only how to write prescriptions for symptoms. It's a corrupted profession filled with self-serving jackasses. Now I love my general practitioner. He actually sits down and spends time having a conversation with me on the rare occasion I have a problem, and he has an uncanny knack for pinpointing the issue. But I don't even fill half the prescriptions he gives me, and I do fine.

Even if you have a great doctor it pays off to be a skeptic and do your own research -- I just don't take everything as gospel like I used to.

I totally believe all your bad experiences. Like any other profession, there are some really bad ones out there. But there are still plenty of doctors who are doctors to help people and are truly decent human beings.

The thing about the practice of medicine that's different from say law or even accounting is that it could be the smartest, best doctor in the whole world treating you, and if it's a disease not readily identifiable by blood test, X-ray, biopsy etc., it's still YOUR body and even the best doctor in the whole world is more reliant on you to an extent (of course, assuming said lawyer/accountant client gave his professional perfect info).

Past that, he/she does have to make guesses as far as how to treat if you can't be definitively diagnosed. That's where you come in and like you said, don't take everything like gospel. You definitely have to ask more questions these days and be sure your doc is on the ball... but I'm not a huge fan of saying most doctors are greedy jackasses. Leave insulting sweeping generalizations like that to Obama.

uh, yeah! The doctor's oath is to "first do no harm". He should have walked away or got Michael into a treatment facility, but the bucks were too good. Wonder if that doctor is a republican. LOL

Michael Jackson didn't molest anyone. No proof was ever found. Just a few parents making money off their children and hitting an easy target.

Spreading lies about people is low, spreading lies about dead people is trashy!

Because nothing has been "ruled" a homocide. The cororner's office has no statement as to the autopsy/toxicology and has not stated a cause of death - they have released nothing. The LAPD has released nothing and their spokesperson has stated they do not know where this info came from.

Stay tuned, kids.

Not going here again. I have my opinion, you have yours. Both opinions have enough support behind them....The man bought his way out of alot of jail....and just because the LA DA couldn't make a strong case against him, it DOES NOT mean he didn't do it.

So eat a nice bowl of shut the fuck up....and I'll let you have your opinion, no matter how desperate you are to protect your memory of the man's music, despite whatever else he may have done in life as a human being.

I agree, however, we have become a society that thinks a pill will fix everything. Doctors run a business just like anyone else and if you don't keep your customers happy, they will take their business elsewhere. While I don't feel that this is the best practice, it's the real world. I think most physicians are still prudent practitioners and wouldn't prescribe something that is harmful but here's an example.....A patient goes to their doctor and asks for a prescription for Ambien because she saw an advertisement on TV and she has a friend that takes it every night and told her it's not addicitve so she wants a prescription....well, good practice would be to evaluate the patient to find out if there is an underlying cause for her sleep problems, including maybe a sleep study....well, the patient doesn't want to go through all of that, she just wants the medication so, if the doctor refuses, it is not uncommon for her to go to another physician with the same request-eventually she'll find one that will just give her the prescription because Ambien is a fairly harmless drug.....

Rip Rokken wrote:The medical professional has changed

Yes, it has!!

Rip Rokken wrote:medical schools today are heavily influenced by the pharmaceutical industry

The entire medical profession is influenced by the pharmaceutical industry....just as any profession is influenced by companies that want their business

Rip Rokken wrote:Doctors don't seem to learn how to heal people anymore -- only how to write prescriptions for symptoms.

This is simply not true, doctors learn to heal, but there are more medications available now than ever before, some to alleviate symptoms and some to treat the disease but most people go to the doctor wanting relief from symptoms and medications along with alternative therapies are still part of that treatment.
Rip Rokken wrote: It's a corrupted profession filled with self-serving jackasses.

No it's not. There are still many, many, many good doctors out there!
Rip Rokken wrote:Now I love my general practitioner.

See, they are not all self-serving jackasses.
Rip Rokken wrote:Even if you have a great doctor it pays off to be a skeptic and do your own research -- I just don't take everything as gospel like I used to.

I agree....just make sure you are getting good information from reliable source. I see patients frequently that will come in with a birth plan that says they will absolutely refuse a c-section for any reason because they read "on the internet" that c-sections are never necessary and doctors do them at their convenience-and they won't listen to anything the doctors or nurses say when the need arises for a c-section...because what they read "on the internet" went against what the medical professionals were telling them.

Ok, it appears to be the same plate number, which is weird... but look at the side-by-side... on the left, there is some kind of writing or maybe a bumper sticker under the license plate... on the right side there is nothing there.

You know, the more I think about this, the more ridiculously plausible this is. Pull a fucking Eddie and the Cruisers...and all of a sudden, boom....he's as big as he was before he was fucking 12 year olds....

His debt will float away, since his estate made fucking tons since his 'death'....
