Where Are All Of The Videos?!!!

I remember after each show last year everyone was very excited and tons of video!! Where is it all? Is it because no one wants to see the same songs over and over or what??? :( :(

I heard last night was really good. Maybe the security nazis have been making it impossible. Even Plokkers don't have any and I know they are not tired of seeing them.

Yep, security is tight. They were a little lax at the Thackerville show, but they made me put my camera away after a while. I do not understand that.

KDOUBLEU should have some. I just hope he has Higher Place.

The concerts I've seen this year have been absolutely fantastic. Just unbelievable. :D

They probably clamped down after that BGTY video surfaced. Youtube is all fun and games until a bad performance hits the videowaves.

I still think they are clamping down because of Heart. Heart doesn't want pictures and rather than confuse security they've definately gone with the no camera policy.

I guarantee for every off performance on youtube there would be a lot more great performances.

NO, that's not the reason. Some here complained, remember? They said they're tired of hearing/watching the same songs over and over.

When I saw Heart open for them last year I felt Ann had lost a lot of range from when I saw her two years before. It won't stop me from seeing them again but is that one of the reasons Heart doesn't want their shows filmed or is it something else entirely?

So they punished the plokkers also because of what we said here?
I think it' more to do with Heart not wanting to be filmed. The band will have NR opening a lot of their shows for the remainder of the tour so we will see if the policy changes. Personally, I think that's what DVDs are for and as the Manila Video was done in full key, it should blow away any this detuned stuff showing up on Youtube anyway.

Yea I probably do too! I would rather see great videos better than crappy ones but I really think it does take some excitement out of the tour. For me anyway.

Honestly, I've only watched about three or four youtubes of this year's tour. I've never watched more than two or three of the videos from Perry's FTLOSM tour either. It's just such a terible way to capture a show. The only decent one I have watched is the JSS show from Omaha when Deen sang Faithfully and Open Arms. Whoever filmed that had a great camera and was able to film from a tripod which made a big difference.

Thank God Japanese Television filmed all those Great Journey shows from 80, 81 and 83 but unfortunately, it's not happening like that anymore.

I think it's probably more of people just want to watch and enjoy it. At least in my case. Saw them last year. Took some videos and regret doing it. Didn't enjoy as much as my friends.

I agree with this. I don't even understand how people can take pictures much less videos. I'm at the show to enjoy it and don't let cameras get in my way.

Yep. Saw Jackson Browne tonight at Red Rocks. Third row seats, three hour show with no opening act. Ahhhhhhhh. I just sank into the show and floated along. He looks great, sounds great, new material rocks. I didn't even take a picture, didn't even consider a video.

There were a few videos for every concert (except Rockford) and usually they surfaced a few days after the concert. We just stopped posting them here because some here complained. If I am not mistaken Perrywoman was wondering why she doesn't see concert videos any longer here at MR's Journey forum. I maybe wrong. But it's all good.

AP's site concert thread views went up considerably. Maybe some of the members here who are fans of the current line-up take a peek over at AP' site for concert news and reviews.

Philadelphia Spectrum, May 1982
I remember sitting in the last row, against the wall, behind the stage (Which was fine as Perry routinely made the journey back there along the catwalk to acknowledge us). No one was taking pictures of the show and there weren't really that many flashbulbs in the front either. Everyone was just listening to the music. The only interruption being the joints that would occasionally be passed from one peron to the next all the way down the row.
I don't know when filming at concerts became in vogue. Tickets cost enough already, not being able to totally absorb the music because you're mind is focusing on a video presentation seems like you are just cheating yourself out of appreciating the performance at hand.

They're youtube videos anyway. If someone here wants to see the videos, they're not hard to find, though finding something beyond the dirty dozen may prove a little more of a challenge as you can't film what they're not performing.

As far as concert threads views going up, could it also be the fact that you plokkers never tire of watching Open Arms and Faithfully over and over again, no matter how many times you've seen it before?
Which is great. He is your Idol, of course, just as the loons and wigglers and sototarians have their's.

I have some video clips from various friends who have attended the concert in various venues and they are not uploaded in YouTube. BUT the mere thought of posting them here, I can almost hear GB wailing . . . "Oh, please, my bleeding ears!" So . . .
