Journey Returns to the Stage at Mohegan Sun
Monday September 7, 2009 at 7:30pm
Mohegan Sun Arena

1 Mohegan Sun Blvd
Uncasville, Massachusetts

Journey, one of the best-selling Rock bands of all time, is hitting the road again in 2009 and will be performing live at Mohegan Sun Arena on Monday, September 7th at 7:30pm.

Tickets are $85.00 and $65.00 and go on sale Friday, June 5th at 10:00am through Ticketmaster. Ticketmaster customers may log on to ticketmaster.com; call Ticketmaster's national toll free Charge by Phone number 1.800.745.3000; or visit any Ticketmaster outlet. Tickets may also be purchased at the Mohegan Sun Box Office starting Saturday, June 6th subject to availability.

In 2008, Journey introduced a new singer to the world, Arnel Pineda, with the release of their 14th studio album Revelation and an extraordinarily successful world tour. It was the latest chapter in a Rock and Roll saga that started more than thirty-five years ago and has produced some of the best-known Rock songs of the 70s and 80s. Revelation, a three-disc CD and DVD package, was certified platinum within several months of its release. Disc one comprises eleven re-recorded classics, disc two features eleven new songs, and disc three is a concert DVD.

For more information on Journey and other great events at Mohegan Sun, visit mohegansun.com. For information on this week's schedule, call the Entertainment and Special Events hotline at 1.888.226.7711, ext. 27163.

I know it is and I saw that too. (See my thread title?) I only re-printed what's originally written. It's Yahoo's error.

A return Journey
By Rick Koster Published on 9/3/2009

The philosophical questions of our age:

If Journey sets up in the forest and Arnel Pineda is the singer - instead of Steve Perry - and they play a song but no one shows up to listen …

… does the wheel in the sky in fact keep on turning?

… do the lights in fact go down in the city?

… does the small town girl - livin' in a lonely world, of course - actually board a train, which is leaving point A at midnight and bound for point B (which happens to be nowhere)?

Maybe the only way to know is to show up and empically verify these vital inquiries when Journey performs Monday at the Mohegan Sun Arena.

Though the group has released a three-disc set featuring some new material with Pineda, a platinum-seller called “Revelation,” the important news is that Pineda sounds a lot like Perry and there will be a significant recitation of hits.

- Rick Koster

Journey, 7:30 p.m. Monday, Mohegan Sun Arena; $65, $85; mohegansun.com.

Maybe with three weeks left, they're going for broke. They've got a slew of shows with Night Ranger coming up. I wonder if they'll throw out some of the other ballads. Did they do Six tonight?

22 songs...19 for AP and 3 for DC. 5 ballads...or 6 if you count Who's Crying Now as a ballad.

12 of the remaining 17 shows are with Night Ranger. Since Arnel and Deen have both sang Higher Place on this tour, maybe Jack can take a crack at it next.

That boy loves to rock. I wouldn't mind if he took a shot at some of the Arrival songs he helped pen.

Good...Dead Or Alive sucks. HP is at least mediocre.

Sorry, guys, false alarm. It seems that there has been a little confusion in between the Setlist that was texted to fabbest earlier and the actual one. It's the same Patiently/WCTNGOF combo version as in Borgata afterall.

I know . . . I know . . . Me, too. It's 5 am in TX and I stayed awake the whole night waiting for THAT video clip.

Ouch, utter fail on the high notes at 4:30 and 4:55. Way too flat, Arnel.

OH for cripes sake...you're such a fuckin' whiney prick sometimes....That was fantastic and you know it! I challenge even the almighty friggin' Perry to do it better. Besides, Perry NEVER sang WCTNGOF live....I wonder why?

Perry DID do it better....when it was recorded.

I'm sorry...this isn't a case of subjective judgment here....so please.... blow it out of your blow hole....

Arnel IS flat at those two notes...it's not a question of whether or not one likes the song, the singer or the interpretation......it's a question of whether or not Arnel technically reached the fucking notes he's supposed to sing....and to that question, he failed.

I never expressed an opinion on any other portion of the recording......holy shit. You arneliots are way too defensive....

EXACTLY! Could he pull this off NOW...in a LIVE setting? MY guess is he'd probably struggle...BUT, we'll never know, will we?

And for the record, I'm not an all things "Arneliot". But I think YOU need to give this guy a little more credit instead of nit picking every little fucking note. The guy's doing a phenomenal job, in my opinion.
