Journey Returns to the Stage at Mohegan Sun

Journey, one of the best-selling Rock bands of all time, is hitting the road again in 2009 and will be performing live at Mohegan Sun Arena on Monday, September 7th at 7:30pm.

Tickets are $85.00 and $65.00 and go on sale Friday, June 5th at 10:00am through Ticketmaster. Ticketmaster customers may log on to ticketmaster.com; call Ticketmaster's national toll free Charge by Phone number 1.800.745.3000; or visit any Ticketmaster outlet. Tickets may also be purchased at the Mohegan Sun Box Office starting Saturday, June 6th subject to availability.

In 2008, Journey introduced a new singer to the world, Arnel Pineda, with the release of their 14th studio album Revelation and an extraordinarily successful world tour. It was the latest chapter in a Rock and Roll saga that started more than thirty-five years ago and has produced some of the best-known Rock songs of the 70s and 80s. Revelation, a three-disc CD and DVD package, was certified platinum within several months of its release. Disc one comprises eleven re-recorded classics, disc two features eleven new songs, and disc three is a concert DVD.

Not fond of that Arena..... I remember going to a concert there and our seats were up in the nose bleed section....OMG when we found our seats I thought seat belts should be included because it was so steep of an angle.....not to mention the row in front of us was at crotch level YIKES not a good night to wear a skirt!!!!

The philosophical questions of our age:

If Journey sets up in the forest and Arnel Pineda is the singer - instead of Steve Perry - and they play a song but no one shows up to listen …

… does the wheel in the sky in fact keep on turning?

… do the lights in fact go down in the city?

… does the small town girl - livin' in a lonely world, of course - actually board a train, which is leaving point A at midnight and bound for point B (which happens to be nowhere)?

Maybe the only way to know is to show up and empically verify these vital inquiries when Journey performs Monday at the Mohegan Sun Arena.

Though the group has released a three-disc set featuring some new material with Pineda, a platinum-seller called “Revelation,” the important news is that Pineda sounds a lot like Perry and there will be a significant recitation of hits.

Maybe with three weeks left, they're going for broke. They've got a slew of shows with Night Ranger coming up. I wonder if they'll throw out some of the other ballads. Did they do Six tonight?

22 songs...19 for AP and 3 for DC. 5 ballads...or 6 if you count Who's Crying Now as a ballad.

12 of the remaining 17 shows are with Night Ranger. Since Arnel and Deen have both sang Higher Place on this tour, maybe Jack can take a crack at it next.

Arnel IS flat at those two notes...it's not a question of whether or not one likes the song, the singer or the interpretation......it's a question of whether or not Arnel technically reached the fucking notes he's supposed to sing....and to that question, he failed.
