What happens if Steve Perry as a solo artist.... were to get into the RORHOF before he does with Journey...
IRONIC or NUTS..... just having a slower day for the first time in weeks... and with the next inducties going to be released soon... thought I would throw this out there...

Seriously, it'll never happen. Not even worth discussing.

First, Perry (or Journey) aren't rappers or dancers....

But even if you take out the seriously fucked up criteria the HoF is using these days....

....the fact remains that both Perry and Journey went into deep freeze at the top of their game. I'm not sure the HoF looks very favorably on that....irrespective of how worthy either may or may not be otherwise....

That could happen... maybe... if you lived in this guy's world

Has anyone ever used the petition site to start one saying why a band should NOT be inducted into the HOF?
Just curious.

It would be FUCKING NUTS! It will NEVER, EVER, EVER happen, nor should it! Perry put Journey on the map and his success was with Journey. Perry's voice was good enough to have success without Journey, but that doesn't alter history. Perry isn't getting into the R&RHOF without Journey any more than Schon would ever get recoginized by anyone, anywhere without Perry putting him on the map!

RRHOF has a little bit of a dilemma. If they were to induct Journey that means Pineda goes with em. Not bad for only 2 years of tenure with a 30+ year old band.

Thought provoking?

They only induct the members that made the biggest contributions during their most acclaimed era.

Cherone didn't go in with Van Halen, (screwingly) Neal Schon didn't go in with Santana, and so on.

If Journey went into the hall, it would probably only be Perry/Schon/Cain/Smith/Valory/Rolie/Dunbar.

I've got to go with Deano & John on this one. It won't happen. If it were to happen, He should go in with Journey. Two solo albums does not merit the HOF.

I must say that Rush is a far more glaring omission to the RNRHOF than anyone else not already included.

Actually, that isn't true. The lineup can be whoever you want it to be. it doesn't have to include all the band members or it can include everyone.

The Artist have to pay for every one attending and all their guests. It can get quite expensive. If Pineda went in, then so would Augeri and Deen and so on, it would stand to reckon.

I think all the prior members would be invited but the actual ones on stage would probably be their money lineup from the 80s, just like the way it went down at the WOF.

Journey will be acknowledged for the run they had from 81-86. That's the lineup that will highlighted.
It's not like the band will be recognized for anything they did post 80s anyway (And with lip-syncing allegations, nor would they want to).

Neal doesn't have to invite Perry but I guarantee you they would be crucified in every music publication around the world and possibly be the first band to be booed at an induction ceremony. The band would be ostracized by fans and peers alike.
A happy moment would become a terrible moment of infamy for the one's attending.

They would have to take their website down just like when they gave Soto the heave ho.
Even the plokker sites would probably be ransacked with pissed off loons looking to vent.

IMO this all just sucks as well as the fact that we even have to discuss this....it sould be a given and the fact that it is not...well

Truthfully, The Guess Who is more glaring than Rush and I say that as a huge fan of both. The Guess Who fuckin put Canada on the music map and are responsible for so many classic rock anthems. How they are not in there is beyond me.

See, I didn't mention them because I kind of assumed they were already in.

A shame.

The only way Augeri, Deen, and Pineda are getting into the HOF is if they purchase a ticket! Journey is only remotely relevant and in this discussion because of an era that none of them had ANYTHING to do with and to recognize them would be a fucking FARCE!

Yeah... I mean Rush is no doubt at least equally deserving, but it'd be like inducting The Beatles without inducting Elvis.

Beach Boys were inducted in '88. Cranky-ass Mike Love gave one of the most memorable acceptance speeches....
