Great News in Music Today!

Very excited to hear Bruce Springsteen has been named as one of five recipients of the 2009 Kennedy Center Honors!!!! :D The show will be taped on December 6th and air on CBS December 29th! After recently becoming a big fan of "The Boss", I couldn't be happier and because of the extensive catalog of quality songs with heartfelt lyrics, I couldn't think of a musician more deserving. It is certainly his year - new CD, huge world tour, Oscar winning song, Emmy nomination and now this! Wow, Springsteen's world must be a happy place right now.

Now can Springsteen get a forum all his own right here? C'mon, I know for a fact there are fans on this board! Okay, I'm new to this forum, but I officially make a request for a Springsteen and Meat Loaf forum. Yes, I am a huge Meat Loaf fan as well. They have birthdays coming up in the same week too, and Max Weinberg played drums on "Bat Out of Hell" beside being a part of the E Street Band.

A big PLEASE goes out to the powers that be. Who thinks this is a good idea besides me?

Congrats to Springsteen. I was never a big fan, but he's had a tremendous career. Well deserved honor.

Oh, I forgot to add to the list of 2009 notable achievements that Springsteen & the E Street Band will also be part of The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame's 25th Anniversary Celebration Concert on October 29th at Madison Square Garden.

Do you think the gang will take a break in 2010 or continue riding this hot streak?

2 yr break, already decided. That MSG show is a RnR HOF show, and I must tell you Fay, these folks here, the majority of them, hate that institution with a passion.

On a more fucked up note, I am flying to Philly for the last ever Spectrum show, by any artist, and Bruce will close it out with a reported 5-6 hour show. Philadelphia is a special place for E Street nation. I asked Granny to come with. Granny, obviously feeling her dementia, her adult diaper filling up, her dentures falling out, and what have you, tells me no, she ain't coming with. So, anyone in Philly want to do a night with me(October 20th), and tear the living shit out of the City of Brotherly Love?

Was just mentioning that MSG show in regard to Springsteen's string of events this year, but won't mention it again now that I know. As for Granny, she really does need to get some fresh Depends, super-strength polident and do something exciting before she falls over and can't get back up. Think it's too late for the dementia.

Must be thrilled that your boy is being honored Deano?
