I heard something along those lines. Why not wait a few months when they have an album in the can and a tour to promote. Who's going to remember them being on her show six months from now? if it's to pimp their DVD, it's a waste. Music DVD sales only do about 10 percent of what Audio sales achieve.

Well, with the rumors that Oprah might retire it is a very good time to get that visibility. And there still is a leg of the tour to go, right?

August 2008, there was a thread at Arnel's original official site, arnelpineda.ning.com, titled, Journey On Oprah Winfrey Show, that encourages all Plokkers to send an email to the show's producers for Journey to guest. It was said that Oprah producers do accept show suggestions and there was a link posted to do so.

And someone needs to send Oprah a Friga shirt to wear the day of the taping.
I'm sure I know just the person to do that!

Could this appearance be considered another Jumps The Shark moment for the band as it tries to separate itself from its Rock band persona and aligns itself wholeheartedly with the adult contemporary market as legitimate ballad bombers?

Umm just a question, how could they tape in Chicago on Tuesday the 15th if they're scheduled to play in Richmond that date?

It might be do-able if they sent backup equipment to Chicago ahead of time, taped the show early in the morning and used a private jet in and out of Chicago to get to the Richmond show. (and hope nothing goes wrong in Richmond that would require the back-ups)

It'd be a lot of work and $$$ for one short performance, but hey it would be national TV.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Jump the Shark? Are you seriously kidding me, GB? Oprah is beyond tons of publicity for the band. Musical acts kill for that kind of publicity. This is a catch for them, if it's really true, as she is hard to get on. They have an interesting story with Arnel, which I would imagine is the draw for the interview and the resurgence of Journey music. I think their concerts are showing they're rocking it out, not separating itself from its rock band persona  Oh, wait , you haven't been to a concert this year and don't watch the videos so wouldn't know that.

So this will be bigger than their Superbowl moment, even though it's going to appear probably 5 months before their next concert? I thought they were going for a younger audience. What is the demographic for Oprah viwers, exactly?

Okie Dokie.

What does the SuperBowl have to do with your post and my reply? I was addressing your jump the shark remark and separating itself from its rock band persona remark.

But I will answer. I don't know. Superbowl was really great publicity for the band, to me. It's all good publicity.
