I think that's the only explaination....but then again, sometimes people survive things that there is no way they should survive....

Looks like a clean slice from just below the forehead to below the mouth. Probably nothing in the brain cavity was touched. I could see this guy living for sure. And there's probably a good chance he'll have a rather large scar going down the middle of his face. Looks like it was fairly close to the middle of his face, making reconstruction a bit easier compared to a rag doll zig zag slice and dice. But what a classic example of more dumb assess. jeesh...

You did a cold analysis of the situation, but agree with you, i also see this guy living maybe with a big scar for life...silly kid, hope his mom don't watch this vid :evil:

Exactly! Sometimes it just isn't your time. I am a volunteer firefighter and have pulled up to quite a few car accidents and you do the silent "Holy Sh*t, no way they're alive" thing to yourself, and somehow they are, or you have to work hard to get them out, but their body moved a certain way and they didn't die.

I read on another site that this guy died 2 days later.

At least he didn't have to live with that pain (doesn't matter if he was stupid, it sucks), I'd want to die too.

A blog that happened to post the same video, take it or leave it, I didn't ask for source. It's deleted now for terms of service violation.

[edit]: I'm looking up more to the story and a few comments on different sites claim the ER footage is from an older online video about a failed shotgun suicide. If that's true, I'm betting the guy that jumped in the first segment died in the water. Can't find an actual link to the suicide video, though.
