Nick? As in Nickelodeon Films? Well, they're going for the middle aged housewife market on Oprah, why not go for the kids market too.

from nick,

hey gunbot, thanks for the info, by the way if you go to walmart.com, and search, it says that the journey live in manila is a walmart exclusive due out on october 2, that's pretty weird since it is a friday, has there been any official confirmation on this,

$12.88, on sale for 10 dollars. May be they can add a bonus CD. Didn't we just get a three disc package for the same price?

http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product. ... d=12442756

Why not let Amazon sell it, that's where most DVD sales are done now days. maybe it will be a limited time exclusive. Funny that you can pre-order this one but Revelation is not available for online order.

October 2nd. So we can expect it to be uploaded onto Pirate Bay by Oct. 3rd.

As far as I'm concerned, this year is pretty much almost over. Maybe next year.....or the year after. Who really knows anyways.

If you really, really read the entire thread, there is a surprise in there. Did you find that hidden egg?

The Wal-Mart link says it's one disc Non enhanced. Why all the hoopla about filming in four times HD if it's not coming out in a Blueray/dvd combo pack like a lot of new releases are starting to do?

And shouldn't the price be $7.99?

Okay, I'm done with my obligatory complaints post.

You may proceed with the celebration now.

This is the el cheapo release. Somewhere reading about the project and the new cameras the guys said it would come out on Blue Ray too.

There is no way this thing is out in a few weeks. As of about a week ago, Kevin Shirley said he's still mixing the DVD. No chance there is no info out about this DVD and its supposed release is two weeks away. No shot.

Isn't Journey supposed t be on Oprah the same day? If they pull off a launch the same day as the show, it would be very beneficial for them. "Buy this DVD at Wal-Mart today" sounds a lot better than saying "Pre-order this DVD at Wal-Mart".

Not understanding the process, I would think that once the masters are complete, it's just press, pack and ship, right?

There might be a few small steps other than that but they should have been taken care off. Since this is video, I'm pretty sure you can't just send a royalty check to the song writers, that they have to actually give you permission to use the songs (Think Sopranos). But that should have all been handled already.
With that price point, a digital soundtrack and other things included, I wonder how many songs are going to be cut. Hopefuly none but after seeing the Revelation DVD, I'm not so sure about that.

I just don't see how it would not be full, except for TDTWT, which is gonna need some magic to salvage. My guess is that gets cut if anything, but we'll see

Alright, the Keith Urban, Neil Diamond and AC/DC DVDs all have over two hours of music, all Walmart exclusives. So, there is hope that nothing will get cut.

Unless I missed something, I couldn't pick up (from any of the videos) what sounded so bad with TDTWT that night. I know the harmonies were not that tight, but they aren't in the original. On the CD you can clearly hear Deen's higher part, just as in the live version.

What was so wrong with that performance?

Maybe it's really not that bad, just the amatuer recordings. Hopefully thats the case and the song makes it.

Well, looks like I might be wrong if the band announced last night that the DVD will be released the same day as the Oprah show airing. I stand corrected. I didn't think there was any way it was going to be out in two and a half weeks.

And I noticed on the Wal-Mart web listing that it says it's a music DVD, but the format is listed as CD. I know those early catalog listings are unreliable, but could this be a DVD/CD combo? That would be outstanding.

I'll echo the sentiment that this DVD has to be the full show. The Revelation DVD is almost unwatchable because of the fact that it just feels like a collection of music videos and not a concert. I think they learned from their mistake and will go back to a full (or nearly full) concert release. Even the 2001 Arrival DVD wasn't the entire show, but it was very close.

If it's being released within a month, it sure isn't getting that much attention from the band. There isn't any news about it on the official site even. When it comes to Journey we know about release dates well in advance. I wonder why things are different this time around.

That's what made me think there's no way in hell it's out in two and a half weeks. But maybe they'll let the cat out of the bag about the Oprah appearance and the DVD at the same time in a day or two.

Still, it's very strange that the first we're hearing about the DVD release date is right now. And there are no product details like track listing or anything.

Maybe they got the Oprah gig and are pushing up the release date.

Could be. If Kevin Shirley finished mixing the DVD last week, could they have it pressed, packaged and shipped for release in just three and a half weeks? And why is Wal-Mart releasing this on a Friday? Tuesday is the usual new music day.

I think that's the case, since I don't recall there being any clunkers live that night. I've noticed that many of the shows I've seen live sounded tight in person but then sound like $&#(&#*@ on youtube.

I don't know if there is a difference, but this is not new music...this is new video. Mayber their release dates are different for video? Now that I think of it...nope! New movies are always available on Tuesdays as well...
