Richmond Va 9/15 My Review{no need to delete}

Postby stevew2 » Wed Sep 16, 2009 4:05 pm

We got there just in time to see Journey start{fuck motorhead}.They started of with the majastic intro {buy the way my spelling will be fucked up as usual} they went into Sep Ways, Only the young, the anthem{which was pure mud, Stoned in Love, Deen sang Keep on Runnin ,Whos Crying now ,Friga started his Open arms solo. i immediately ran to the wine cellar. Fuck Va. they cut of the booze right before I got there, went outside to smoke thinkin i could sneak to the car for a healthy swing,NO......... they had a gate and a cop making sure you cant get fucked up. Went back in the heard Frigas mouth harp bullshit, hit head till it was over.Dont know what they in between my wine hunt and head visit. They did Change for the Better which I love, most people sat down and friga got a glance at my shirt, got a 4 secound stare and a silly frown, not the evil stare i got last year.they did never Walk Away,it went over okay.Dean did Higher Place, which was the best song for me,cause i still miss the fuck out of Steve Augeri, then they did Lights,Then Deen sang Still they Ride, and they did Wildest Dreams, and another fast one from Rev, i dont remember what it was, cause i wasnt drunk i just know i never liked the song. They did Wheel in the Sky,which i thought sucked cause that and Faithfully were the only two i noticed the detuning on,and We {me and Ashley} hated the ending cause Steve Augeri did a great improve on that ending, and they used it and it was lacking what he did vocally on the ending, They should just ended the fuckin song like the record. They came back with Any way you want it,and finished off with Lovin Touchin.i might have missed somethings, but this is what i recalled.I waited till i got home to drink.Arnel kicked ass. There were a few times that i heard his accent,it wasnt enough to distract from what he was singing. He belted out some high notes and held them for a long time,i was close up and he knows how to breath and hold his sound. I like Steve Augeris stage presence much better, but Arnel conencted to the crowd and got them off their asses to.At the end NeaL said something to Arnel ,than Arnel said they taped the Oprah show today and i forget when he said it would air,the crowd went like ahhhhhh then they did there bow.Friga looked like he was having a good time,I dont know what a earing in the right ear means??
overall, it was a good concert.
Its just different with me cause of the past stuff,it will never be as good, thats my problem.I saw plenty of new fans jumping up and down like I used to.Im happy for them, I hope they wont be let down,or worship a band like I did. Journey did kick ass tonighti I hope i didnt give anyone a headache,.thanks, Steve

Continue when you're ready, Steve.

Nothing's going to get deleted, dude. As long as you don't go ape shit. Remember, this isn't really the Journey forum anymore. Relax and finish your review.

Let's review so far.

Crowd okay with NWA.
You liked CFTB, crowd indifferent.
Deen does Higher place and Still They Ride.
Wildest Dreams and another Revelation song that you're not sure of and didn't like anyway.

Please continue.

We're going to have to figure out the mystery song that he said was from Revelation, that he didn't care for. Fast Tempo? I can't think of any other fast tempo songs from Rev. I hope he's not thinking DOA.

I take it Neal's rendition of the National Anthem sucked?

You being a musician Steve, I'm not surprised you caught the detune on Faithfully, I fucking hate it and am glad another person verified what I felt was killing that song.. WITS was probably noticeble too because he's yelling instead of singing unlike last year, when he stayed in key, even at the end of the tour when I saw him.

To those people who were not here, this is how it went down......

First post from Stevew2 and then we waited...........

stevew2 wrote:We got there just in time to see Journey start{fuck motorhead}.They started of with the majastic intro {buy the way my spelling will be fucked up as usual} they went into Sep Ways, Only the young, the anthem{which was pure mud, Stoned in Love, Deen sang Keep on Runnin ,Whos Crying now ,Friga started his Open arms solo. i immediately ran to the wine cellar. Fuck Va. they cut of the booze right before I got there, went outside to smoke thinkin i could sneak to the car for a healthy swing,NO......... they had a gate and a cop making sure you cant get fucked up.

Second post from Stevew2 and then we waited some more...........

Third post from Stevew2 and we waited and waited .............

I like Steve Augeris stage presence much better, but Arnel conencted to the crowd and got them off their asses to.At the end Nealsaid something to Arnel more..........

and still waiting......

I was just thinking of Hendrix, during those times...
I remember my dad heard it or saw it and freaked out. He's a conservative.
Automatically I learned that anything my Dad didn't like must be pretty damn cool! 8)

I started telling my Dad about Arnel right after he got hired. I came to find out that my father has been on this planet for
68 years and didn't know who Journey was. I didn't bother to tell the rest of the story after that.

I was a Hendrix diehard for his version but when I heard it on Boston's album so finely tuned and polished, I just felt that theirs was the superior version.
