With all the AP success, the new dvd, & the upcoming movie, will Journey announce fund-raising shows to help aid the aftermath of Ketsana & Parma? Maybe some of the cash they make from this new dvd will be sent to Manilla?

Just a quick thot.

Arnel sent $25K already. A fund raising show will be great.

They may have sent their donations already. They don't have to tell us, do they?

Journey started out this year with a charity show and they're ending it with one in Sonoma. My guess is if Arnel is staying in the US sometime in Oct/Nov I'll bet there is another charity show for PI. Small venue, big bucks. If not AP will be doing a solo with other PI artists. Just a matter of time.

One thing I've learned from all the years I used to go to the Philippines and live there, if you want to donate money to help the people of the Philippines, don't just send your money over to there. No. you buy a ticket, go over there yourself and personally give your donations to the people you want to help out. Anything sort of that and you can bet your bottom dollar that the only people you'll be helping out are the corrupt government officials who live there but also have a mansion in San Diego, CA complete with pool, tennis court and an array of foreign and domestic muscle cars for their kids to drive and brag about owning.

Arnel and Journey can't fix a problem that big as much as they may want to.

Yep, hate to say it, but if nothing else, this is a huge photo opp. Couldn't you imagine the band hooking-up with the Red Cross, WorldVision, etc, to donate some time & money to helping the country of their new singer? They would be in the news worldwide...and they could do some humanitarian work too.

Oh, Behshad, you're killing me here. Give a guy a warning before you post those sexually charged pics. I have to be a good boy till my ear infection's gone or else the pressure will pop my eardrum. That pic is making me think things. UGGGGGGGHHHHH!!! Be gone with you, damn earache!!!!

Now I know how Kramer, Jerry, George & Elaine felt during their "Master Of Your Domain" contest.

It's a marketing windfall. You have to take that kind of opportunity when it comes around. Free, large-scale publicity--and the big shows will WANT to talk to you about it. Doesn't come any easier than that.

didn't Journey do 2 charity shows a few years ago with a bunch of bands....one in Dallas and one in Atlanta?

I guess they could get some bands involved and do it again.

yea, they did the 2 shows for the 9/11 attacks. The Atlanta show was maybe one of Augeri's best performances vocally. His voice was stronger that night than almost any other time I have ever seen him. Nice acoustic set with Trial By Fire and Liberty also.

It's not the band's responsibility. I will not even suggest. But if they did, I will be very grateful and thankful.

If there's anybody that should be required to help the Philippines, it's the corrupt politicians and their friends. Maybe it's time for them to share the loot.

American Samoa could use a little help also. As an American, I prefer that we take care of our own Commowealth before wondering off the reservation. As much as Americn and Euro Bands like helping nations of the third world, there are plenty of worthwhile causes in our own backyard.

It would take alot more then band music to earn enough money to fix the crisis in the Philippines. We're talking billions of dollars here.

True, the Philippines has issues that go far beyond the reach of Mother Nature.

The most cost-effective way to help the Philippines is to get the right people elected into government office over there.

In order for Neal to be able to find and help the right people get elected into the office , you'd have to provide him with a laptop, wifi and the URL to YouTube ;)

Youtube? Why not? Half of the politicians there are movie stars, baskeball players or singers. Why change the trend?
