WHY?

If only Journey would of tried to promote the new cd. Arnel is a great vocolist in his own right. On the Oprah show they should of played Like A Sunshower.

Revelation's run is over, it's well over a year old and two tours deep now. Like A Sunshower wouldn't sell shit. That said, they still shoulda had the balls to play something from there.

Revelation's sold well enough, and the tour's over.
No reason not to give Oprahand her viewers what they "really" wanted, lol...

What the fuck do you think they're gonna do? Get on there and promote it... "hey, this was a wal-mart exclusive... they've since stopped stocking it on the shelves 6 months ago, we just finished our second tour in support of it and will never play a lick of it live again, but hey, if you like this song, you're welcome to try and luck into a copy at your local Wal-Mart!"

... Still- "Hysteria" came out, didn't do anything. A year later, it sold buttloads. They really SHOULD have played a new song. Luckily "The Cow" did promote the new album, so who knows? Surprised everyone didn't have one under their chairs!

That is rotten apples to ripe fresh Florida oranges bry... that was the 80s! Bands had real outlets like radio and MTV to break through... not on some TV show that only a bunch of bloated housewives loaded up on bon-bons and diet coke have the time or the stomach to watch... They should have played a new song because that's what bands should do when they have new(er) material to play, but playing a song from it on there would not spark a second wave of Revelation sales. It sold remarkably well as is. The lion's share of the target audience has already bought it for the most part

I did not want to start a argument here....I was just thinking they need to promote their latest cd....not playing older stuff from the Perry era.

I agree with you for sure, for the band's legitimacy's sake. I just don't see Revelation all of a sudden moving hundreds of thousands more because they drop a tune on a show like Oprah.

I still think teenie boppers account for a lot of it. I don't mind some of these artists to be honest. Haven't heard hardly any Chesney though.

Dude...I think you're missing the entire point of that Oprah show. For starters, the show had absolutely NOTHING to do with Journey, other than their song "Don't Stop Believin'" was the backdrop for "inspirational" stories. If Arnel hadn't been plucked out of poverty, Journey wouldn't have been on that show! The other thing you're forgetting is that Journey isn't about new music. I personally like most of the tracks on "Revelation" but it doesn't change the fact that 99% of the people familiar with the name "Journey" could give two shits about any new material, and that will NEVER change. It's never going to be 1983 again, but people can have fun pretending! One other comment about the song you suggested...I actually like the song but it's one of the gayest titles, EVER! That fruit Cain must have cooked that one up

Oprah actually gave Revelation its plug. But she reversed the colors of the Album cover and gave it some weird, acid trip to it.
