With someone finding the Houston 1980 boot concert for us and enjoying the music... I was curious if there were any Des Moines 1980 boots anywhere... I have not found any yet, but
this is what I found... a story that maybe is the birth of the first loon in America... :-) it will have you in stiches and bring back lots of memories about our youth...
and seeing Journey for maybe your first time. I know it brought back memories for my first Journey show that very time peroid.

ENJOY...

"Columbia-sponsored beer and cheese reception"

Now days, it's bottled water and nutragrain bars.

The things talked about in this article are the intangibles that replacement singers just can't make a connection and the reasons you don't hear re-records being played on the radio despite their supposed superior production quality. There is just no emotional attachment of any kind.
After All These Years is the closest the band has come to introducing a memorable tune other than their legacy stuff on the radio, but it never got enough of the continuous coast to coast airplay to ingrain itself as a bona fide hit.

I doesn't bother me that the re-records don't get airplay, it's understandable. But I think the band should take advantage of the small success they are having. Why not release TTDWT as a single. I think somebody suggested this here not too long ago. That song has a mass appeal and with proper promotion, might rock the charts.

The killer was when WDILYL was sitting around #23 on the A/C chart and Journey just wouldn't play it at any of their shows. I don't think they put it back on the setlist until the song had fallen off the chart.
