And I doubt they're recording anytime soon if they aren't touring next summer.

Shirley mentioned somewhere being with Journey in November, but never saw it again. But I just don't see that happening really. We'll see ...................

If they're not touring for ayear, what's the rush to record. So the album can sit and wait for release? If they were recording anytime soon, I doubt Arnel would be out there playing videoke king at the moment.

Well, I would like to see them take their time and write a solid record. Break away from some of the formulas and write some thoughtful songs. Get Arnel involved in writing if he's up to it.

I wouldn't know one way or the other, but Arnel isn't really essential to the writing of the new album, given that the last three were done without much input from their respective singers (other than Augeri's two Generations contributions, which most people here seem to loathe). It'd be nice to see him contribute, but it won't affect the progress either way.
