Superb looking video Jeremey. I'd like to critique the performance, but as is typical with youtube, the audio quality is AWFUL!

Thanks for checking it out - I haven't even heard the performance as someone just passed it on to me this afternoon and I've got both babies napping here...But the video quality is pretty kick ass. I figured the audio would be sketchy as the video was taken from a DSLR camera.

I couldn't see him anywhere on the stage (at least not what's shown of it in the footage). I knew you had a change-up coming keyboard wise, and thought maybe you were a 4-peice for the moment after seeing the clip. So who's the replacement? I'm just curious because you said it was someone we'd know.

Some fella by the name of Jim Rybkost, or at least that's what's churning in the rumor mill

I'm going to try to make it out this Saturday in Nashville. Trying to talk some friends into it, although most (all) people in my life are far less fanatical about Journey than I am. But I should be there. :)

It's RYKBOST you peter puller!  And the rumor is incorrect. I'm playing exclusively for "Cold Heart". I even quit playing at the church. I'm now just another heathen again. :D

Depending on the area we are playing in, we are pulling from a pool of players....Chad Campbell, who was the original Frontiers player, Marc Engeran of Rokbox, Anthony Gravely, and Eric Ragno should all be sitting in with us. I've found it's just too difficult to have a full time player in any position from a different area than us...Such has been the case with several of our players in MD, NC, and SC over the past year. When you are home for 3 days and away for 4 days, it's tough for people to drive an extra day before and after to meet us for travel. So we'll be using players from the areas we are playing in, since we've such a small local market of keyboard players here in Southwest Virginia.

Chad was supposed to play with us the first two weeks of November, but his work schedule didn't work out. We spent two weeks rehearsing and recording Chad's keyboard parts into Logic, a multitrack program for mac. We are using Chad's audio recordings (not MIDI sequences) that we worked out with our original arrangements last week and this week since we had such short notice. There's no difference in the arrangements we've been working on for the past year, since we normally play with a click track anyways, and luckily we haven't had to cancel any shows. We've explained the situation on stage and it's worked out great so far!

Next week Marc will be playing with us in Louisiana, and Chad is returning for our 4 shows the following week in Virginia (live Chad, not virtual Chad!) :P

Steve Fordham, who has been with us since June....Steve had to move to Colorado on short notice to help out with his elderly parents.

Isaiah was awesome too....He was tired of all the travel though and went back to his band in Roanoke, so he's tied up most weekends.

Chad and Marc have both played with us before (Chad obviously for about 5 years!) so that should be easy. Anthony has recordings of our shows and has plenty of time to work up the show, and Eric is...well....Eric! 8)

Yeah, we haven't run into any problems so far, and we've made it clear what the situation is. When I had to cancel the shows due to the kids having H1N1 a few weeks ago, it was nearly financially devastating....When you depend on music to put oil in your furnace and keep your water on, you gotta do whatever you can do to keep the machine running.
